My LLMD now thinks I might have babesia so he is adding Mepron to my zithromax.

It is the babesia that you can get in Washington state. CRAZY- I WAS there a few times years ago.

Has anyone taken it?? I would appreciate any feedback.

Did it help you??? Side affects??? ETC.

Thank you

Laurie

Some nausea at beginning; pretty benign stuff in my experience.

Tic, sounds like a herx! Give it time before you give up on it .... if it's making you feel this bad, it must be killing something.

I took Mepron/Biaxin/Art for 9 months. It did a lot. Herxes are very hard.

If we had to do it over, we would've started at 1/2 tsp once a day. It was hell on earth for my daughter. She didn't smile for six months.

We started full dose and she had hallucinations and suicidal thoughts. Her stomach hurt, then her spine.

It was hard...I'm mean really hard.

But.....it did it's job.

I started on Mepron yesterday. I have been on malarone off and on for almost a year now, just

one a day. We thought we would try Mepron to see if I needed a stronger dose. I only took a

1/4tsp and thought I was going to tip over. My balance was off, felt like I was going to puke,

and dizzy. Not sure if it was a side effect from the medication or herx. I did not think it

would have really effected me that much because I have been on the malarone, so maybe it was a

side effect. I need to call my doctor and ask. I am nervous to take it again, so I just took my

malarone today. I did herx realy bad off the malarone when I first started it. Took months

before I felt myself again. I hope the Mepron is better for you.

This is my first time with mepron/biaxin combo.

I did malarone prior 2 times.

I am almost at the end of my 3rd month of this.

Really bad herxes. The "I think I am dying type".

I never had that with malarone.

I have started to have a couple of good days here and there

Where I don't have night sweats, dizziness, air hunger, etc.

I used to take four malarone a day.

I think the mepron is easier to take due to only twice a day.

It doesn't taste too bad.

Bright side is it is such a vibrant yellow. [Big Grin]

Hugs,

Geneal

Thank you everyone- Geneal-leave it up to you to see the bright side- the bright yellow!!

I am probably even more scared to take it now as I only had 2 positive feedbacks but I have no choice!

I am taking it, but we have had to lower my dose to only 1/2 tsp. 2x/day instead of 1 tsp. 2x/day. I couldn't handle the herxes at the full dose. I know others who take even more than I was taking...I don't know how they do it! [dizzy]

My herx from it the second month, was so bad I was totally 100% bed-ridden. My LLMD does not think that is good for us, so he lowered my dose.

If it is too strong, call your LLMD to see if you can maybe lower the dose. Also, make sure you're not taking COQ-10, and that you are taking lots of stuff for detox.

It is tough stuff, but from what I hear it will work. [Wink]

Laurie,

I was fine with it.

I actually remember missing a dose or two and taking it all at once.

I'm not sure I ever had babesia, but Dr. B had put me on it after months of Lyme and bart therapy to get me over the edge. At the very least, I was strained from all the drugs, and yet still tolerated it well.

I think my 5 yr old may be going on it soon, I hope he fairs as well as I.

You must experience it yourself to see. Don't accumulate anxiety over it, it will complicate the perception of wellness.

Dx with Babesia and given Mepron & Zith for 3 months. Had a good response to reduction in leg pain and brain fog.

Now treating bartonolla.

But Mepron worked for me. Also per my LLMD my counts went way down.
