I have noticed that I'm losing the ability to focus more and more every day. I am taking courses in college and its been so hard to remember what I read in the book just 15-30 min prior. I have driven past my house many times and stumble on my words. Is this perm neuro damage of Lyme or does it clear up with treatment? (wait-where am I? kidding)

Have you beeen diagnosed with Lyme? It's my personal experience that the neuro symptoms do clear but more slowly than others.

My cognitive symptoms, as bad as you are describing, cleared with bartonella treatment.

I too was having these crazy bouts of confussion. I was getting lost driving home from a grocery store I had been doing weekly for years and should have been able to do blind folded.
I was getting lost going to my sisters house which I also should have known but the final straw was getting lost going to my doctors appointment and by the time I got there, I was so disoriented that I called my husband to come get me since they didn't feel I should even be driving.
I was a TOTAL mess. Then got into all sorts of neuro problems but won't bore you with all the details. The GOOD part to know is that with treatment, YES YES YES, it does get better.
That isn't to say that I don't still occaionally have them bouts but I'm on Bart treatment right now and it's definitley having an effect on this symptom, so even though I have it hit now and then, each time is a little less severe and is DEFINITELY reversing.
So try to keep that chin up, stick with the treatment and I really believe you too will see some improvements. It doesn't happen over night, but one day you are going to look back and say, "wow...that hasn't happened like it use to in a LONG time".
Good luck and keep us posted.
