I have a 13 year old son with a 3-4week 2-3cm discolouration with a pimple lesion inside. There was an outer area of darkening starting, so I though Lyme, and took him to Dr. I was told it was fungus infection, but now he has a distinct outer darker area approx 6-8 inches long and then the smaller area still on the inside, 2 distinct rashes. I'm not convinced with initial diagnosis or fungus or ringworm. I've seen that before, this is not scaly or rough. Can't get another appt for 1 week, would you push for more?

yes I would push for more

I would immediately take pictures with a ruler or pencil next to it/them as well, make sure they are dated and if you cant date your camera then put a newspaper or notecard with the date on it as well in the pix

at least this way you will have it for future reference, if i had this i dont think i would have gone through as much as i have in getting a diagnosis

it could be as they say though, but a picture is worth a thousand words in case you cannot get in before it fades or goes away completely

keep us updated!

Get to an LLMD ASAP! Your son's life depends on it.

Every Lyme patient has to put up with a million misdiagnoses.

google "under our skin" to get some sense of the

atrocity that is the covering-up of the Lyme epidemic.

Did you see a tick? Not seeing one doesnt mean anything.

I agree aout the taking pictures of this rash. can you post a pic of the rash?? Any other symptoms?? I would want to have my kid on antibiotics for at least a month if it was a lyme rash. You dont want to wait a week for an appointment. I would go to the local ER and see about getting antibiotics ASAP.

don't waste your time. even if you get a diagnosis, they will only give him 14-21 days of doxy, and that is not enough. the n he will end up chronic like us.

maybe if you get to a LLMD right away its not too late and he can still get cured
