I have been on a CAP protocol since 9/2006. I was diagnosed with MS in 1996. I was off all abx 3 weeks before I had this Igenex test.
Any comments on test results would be appreciated.
I just got my results back and here they are:

IGG Result:
**31 kDa IND
**39 kDa IND
**41 kDa +
66 kDa +

IGM Result
**23-25 kDa IND
30 kDa +
**31 kDa IND
**39 kDa IND
**41 kDa ++

All other bands negative and report states negative for lyme

I'd say that's lyme.

I'm not a doctor, but that's my opinion.

Looks like it. What does your LLMD say??

Here is the link to Dr C's WB explanation:

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=1&submit=Go

From the link... to follow....

IN THE 90's, DR C OF MO SAID THIS:

"In my clinical experience, if a patient has symptoms suspicious for borreliosis, and has one or more of the following bands, there is a very high probability the patient has borreliosis.

These bands are 18, 22, 23-25, 28, 30, 31, 34, 37, 39, 41, 83, and 93."

This is true regardless of whether it is IgG or IgM.. But again, there is no universal agreement on the significance of these bands."

==================

IN 2005, HE SAID THIS ABOUT THE BANDS:

"The significant antibodies, in my opinion, are the 18, 23-25, 28, 30, 31, 34, 39, 58, 66 and 93."

YOUR bands are in bold.

Welcome to our little club!!

Looks like Lyme to me!!!

It is *supposed* to be a clinical Dx based on symptoms, with the tests just as a follow-up sort of thing. But each + thingy or IND counts as 10% (+) of the chances of Lyme, in basic terms.

Certain bands are ONLY from Lyme. You've got some winners!! [Cool]

Thanks for your feedback. I have my first appointment with a LLMD in June - I got the Igenex
done for a starting point. I was hoping I would have a positive report even though its not a good diagnosis. I just hope to get some relief of MS symptoms. I also feel I need another opinion. My MD has written off Lyme disease based on this negative report. Another reason I was hoping for a positive to get her buy in.

MS type symptoms can also be caused by HHV-6 (see link at www.hhv-6foundation.org)

And by Cpn. See www.cpnhelp.org (you can also google search "Dr. Stratton, MS, Cpn" and get articles.

You should be tested for HHV-6 and Cpn at Focus Diagnostics lab in CA before concluding that lyme is the cause of your problems. HHV-6, lyme and Cpn cause the same symptoms.

Best,
Timaca

Thanks Timaca,
I am a regular at cpnhelp - I have been exposed to cpn and on Wheldon protocol. I am checking to see what else I may have. I do not think I have been tested for HH6. I'll ask LLMD if he will run the bloodwork.
