Saw the LLMD today and he said that I do have lyme - bands 23 and 41 were positive on IGM portion of the test. He did an Igenex blood test that I'' get back in two weeks. But, he wants me to take 300mg doxy and some plaquenil daily. What is it like to be on plaquenil? Side effects? Advice? Thanks and I hope we all feel better soon!

The only side effect I had with plaquenil was a headache - which I have every day anyway.

You need to be aware that it may, but seldom does, cause damage to your retina and you should have your eyes tested yearly, at least.

Plaquenil is the main abx that helped me with neuro sx.

I felt great on Plaquenil - BUT: it didn't let me sleep and after 6 weeks with only about 2 hours of sleep at night I had to stop it.

Hope it works for you.
