Has anyone ever tried Namenda? It is a drug primarily used for Alzheimer's patients, but has some off label use for memory recall and pain and fatigue. I have been using it for the past 3 weeks and had a large improvement in my brain fog. It also help with chemical sensitivities and sunlight sensitivities. I wanted to share that, as well as the fact that there is a new herb, Enula from the Cowden Protocol for Babesia. I have had lyme and co-infections for about 8 years now and combining the above meds with artesiamin has really helped.

Yeah, I was on memantine (Namenda) while my doctor had sample packs of it. When he ran out, I couldn't afford it and was denied my request for the patient assistance program. I am going to try to re-apply for the program again soon I think.

It definitely helped with brain fog, and removed that feeling of 'impending doom' that I normally carry with me. Good stuff, no side effects.

And Yeah, I'm taking artemisinin now too, with some other herbs (extracts). I've never tried the nutramedix products, as they are expensive and I think they contain alcohol which I avoid like the plague.

Hoping the Art and other stuff will make me feel better. Also on antibiotics, I have been feeling a bit better lately.

My doctor sent me a sample but he mentioned that Namenda does have some side effects. I didn't try it.

He also sent me some Cymbalta. I tried it but I decided not to continue with it. It didn't seem to help as much as something that is that expensive & has some not so nice side effects.

The ENULA is very strong (for me). It's a purgative & really does that. Sometimes purging is good but I need to take it in small doses - on & off. I don't think I have co-infections but I figured I'd continue with it since it's part of the protocol.

I am curious about the namenda. I have bad brain fog but for me its similar to derealization/depersonalization. My vision plays a part in the brain fog as well. Is this similar for you? I am curious if this drug could possibly help me some.

Thanks
Joe

My vision does seem a bit clearer, although the largest benefit is that I find I have better word retreival, there is less static in my head and I find I am more focused. Also helps with energy, definately worth a try. It's the first thing that really helped me feel normal, as in before I had lyme.
