Hi everybody,

Forgive me for keeping this post short. I'm overwhelmed by the info I've been reading this past few days. I'm realizing that I MAY have Lyme Disease and I'm trying to soak up all the info I can before I see my doc tomorrow morning.

It was suggested to me that it sounds like I may have Lyme. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2002. I was diagnosed with IBS about 1990. I've had "mild" symptoms including muscle twitching, sleep paralysis, numbness & tingling on lower half of body as well as depression as far back as when I was a kid.

I remember having breakouts on my face as a kid that I thought were allergic reactions to my kitten. I would break out in red rings on my face and neck. Those breakouts never reoccurred throughout my life.

I became really sick in 2002 just a week after getting the flu shot. I've not been well since and I've deteriorated as time goes by. I have incredible pain throughout my entire body, fatigue, sensitivity to sound and even movement, numbness & tingling on lower body, extremely tight muscles in neck and back, etc.

I have a whole host of symptoms, but I'm too fatigued to continue.

Can someone recommend which test I should be asking my doc to do? I need to be prepared before I see her so I can make the best possible out of my appointment tomorrow morning.

I appreciate any information you may provide.

WELCOME!! [Smile]

Sure could be Lyme... have you seen this link?

http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php/topic/1/88555

Many people have found latent lyme coming forth following a trauma, a surgery, or a vaccine.

Ask for a Western Blot thru Igenex Lab.

www.igenex.com .. test #188 and 189

IF she does the ELISA, just realize it can come back falsely negative.

Thank you, Lymetutu!

Yes, I did read quite a bit of info at the link you posted. I'm so overwhelmed by info. I'm grateful for your reply. I was leaning toward asking for the Western Blot and submitting thru Igenex Lab. Thank you for confirming that for me! It really helps!!!

I want things done right the first time! I'm sure she has already tested me for Lyme with the ELISA. I can't quite remember if this is the case, because the memory is very tricky for me.

After all these years, it feels like this is the key to my future. Here's hoping this is the start of a road to recovery!

Thank you so much for your help!

Don't expect your regular doctor to be on board with any of this. Hopefully, though, you will find support. Still, it's vital to find a Lyme Literate doctor. Details below.

Yes, Igenex is an excellent lab. Be sure whatever lab is drawing your blood does everything exactly and that it gets shipped off precisely. That all matters.

There is also a newer test from Advanced Labs. It's much more expensive yet seems to be a better test.

As you are understandably overwhelmed, just take it bit by bit.

Good luck.

That "sensitivity to sound" is called HYPERACUSIS very common with lyme and with heavy metal issues (as in vaccines, etc.).

For now, MAGNESIUM (like Peter Gillham's Natural Calm) & FISH OIL (OmegaBrite) should be of some help.

Later, when you have more time you might want to look over this thread:

Keebler,

Thank you so much for helping me focus in on some VERY relevant information. This is such a complicated journey. The amount of information is absolutely overwhelming. Your links help me immensely and I am truly grateful.

I am determined to find some strength to get through this. I apologize for taking so long to respond. I have to take frequent mini rest periods in between reading, etc.

Thank you again to Lymetutu as well. It's such a relief to have help. It's so much easier to navigate with some direction as well as care and genuine concern.

Cheers!
Sue
