Hello, I am going to tell you the story and if you don't mind please give me your opinion. I have put a call into my LLMD but haven't heard back.
Last night for dinner I picked up a pizza. My daughter had 1 piece and threw up in her crib at 10:00pm.
I had three pieces of pizza for dinner. At 3:30 am I woke with horrible stomach pain. I had never felt pain like this before.
I am not sure when I went unconcious but my husband said he heard a loud crash and he found me on the bathroom floor unresponsive. I was out of it for just over a minute.
I have a giant goose egg on one side of my head, a strawberry and medium size cut on the other side of my head, my shoulder is all beaten up, and my chin is swollen and bruised.
We don't know if I fell and hit one wall then bounced and hit another before going face first to the floor or fell multiple times. The bathroom is a small toilet room connected to a larger bathroom so the walls are really close togeher. My husband got me up off the floor and I began to have diaharrea and vomiting for about 45 minutes.
My main concern is that I have never had pain before that caused me to loose conciousness.
Even with the birth of my daughter I didn't have that amount of pain, it was unbearable. I can remember rolling around on the floor in agony after I fell because my stomach hurt so bad.
I was trying to tell my husband to call 911 but he said it never came out. I felt like I was in a tunnel and couldn't see, hear, or apparently speak.
It took a few hours of missery in the bathroom but I was able to crawl into bed and rest. Today I am fine. A little bruised and beaten up but overall ok. I am also a little sick to my stomach.
My first thought is food poisioning because my daugher threw up. Hers was not as bad but then again I ate 3 times the amount of pizza. My husband did not have any of the pizza. Does this sound like food poinsioning to you?
My second thought is all my antibiotics I am on Ceftin, Zithromax, and Flagyl. I began 250 mg Flagyl yesterday (I took the pill about 20 hours before this happened and never felt a herx from it).
I haven't been to the doctor becuase I really do feel ok. I look a whole lot worse then I feel. I teach and had our school nurse check me for a concussion. She said it was a deffinate head injury but that I was ok. Please give me your opinions. It would make me feel better. Thanks!

I've had food poisoning twice.
Hit me about 5-8 hours after eating bad food.
Had to sit on the toilet with my head in a garbage can.
Lasted for a few days. I don't believe I had Lyme then.
Last summer I had a bout with the stomach flu.
I couldn't even tell you how much I threw up or had to sit on the toilet.
I didn't realize at the time I was having issues with Neurally mediated hypotension.
I almost passed out several times. The throwing up and loss of fluids
Probably dropped my blood pressure to a point my body just couldn't handle.
Thank God my neighbor is a nurse and had some phenergin (sp?) suppositories.
I was later diagnosed with NMH and I think that has something to do with me almost passing out.
I really couldn't get off the floor of the bathroom.
You could of had food poisoning (both baby and you sick)
And that contributed to a sudden drop in pressure.
May want to run this by your LLMD.
Hope you feel better soon. I hate stomach issues.
Hugs,
Geneal

I have a friend that passed out and bumped her head. I will tell you the same thing I told her. I have had 5 concussions.
Be carefull, and be very aware of the symptoms of a concussion. You may end up attributing your symptoms to lyme, not even realizing that you have a head injury.
With me it took about 3 days to really feel the effects of the concussion. If you experience head aches, stiff neck, runny nose, flu-like symptoms, very tired, spacey feeling, go to see your doctor.
There's not much they can do, but you would definitely need to rest for a few days, and they may do an MRI to check for blood clots.
It turned out my friend had a concussion, with blood clots.
