I went to a chiropractor for years. I was undiagnosed at the time. I always felt pretty good under his care.
I ended up needing my jaw to be moved to the right position, so used orthodontic appliances for that. The chiropractor would move the jaw, but it wouldn't stay because my teeth would move it back.
So the ortho used an appliance to train the muscles to hold it in the right position, then braces to move the teeth to keep it there. No more jaw problems.
But for neck and back, chiropractor was wonderful.

Everyone needs a 'good' chiropractor.

Hi Michele,
I have no idea if this will help, but here's a link to information about a certain type of chiropractic treatment, what could be called "high tech" chiropractic. (It involved tinnitus.)

Interesing Subject...At the present I am not too impressed with chiropractors and I do feel qualified to comment on having neurological Lyme sx's for the last 1.5 years!
Durint this time I visited 3 different chiros, and what I am most disappointed about is the fact I would STILL be seeing ANY/ALL of them if I didn't cut it short!
I presented with neuropathic pain in my hands/feet and was continually led to believe it was of 'mechanical' origin. One said it was coming from the Atlas (C1), another the Lumbar area and that nerves would have to regenerate from L5 to my feet and that this would take about 3 years!
Maybe they meant well at first, but I think if things are not improving by about 6 visits, they should recommend something different. Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractor? Hmmmm? Now this 'charachter' was the most questionable of the bunch, I won't even go there!
In all fairness, I HAVE received relief from chiropractic 'before' the Lyme sx's began. But you must find a good one! I know one with about 45 years working experience who can work wonders, however, if it isn't happening after a few visits would save my time/money.
Perhaps I am a little resentful? Not really, just finally happy to have what seems like a correct diagnosis for many bizarre sx's that no chiropractor could help and to finally have a tested and aggressive treatment plan.
Regards, MBB3

I've been going to one for many years. I was going long before my DX of LD but had LD at the time.
Up until recently, I cannot stand to go. My body hurts so bad afterward it takes 3 days to recover. I just cannot go anymore.
Also, the new chiro at the clinic I go to has started to use an activator on my knots. She has been using it on me for the past year but at the last appt, it hurt so bad I screamed and literally begged her to stop.
I haven't been back since. I hate that activator and refuse to have her use it ever again on me.
Funny how it always was okay for the past year and now I can't stand it.
Wish I could go back but right now my muscles are so tight, tired, sore and crampy that I need to wait (see my post I just started on Severe Muscle Cramping )

I think it all depends on the practioner. i have fortunately finally found an excellent one. I take my whole family. But she is the only I will let touch me in the office, i don't care for the apporach of the others.
It may take a lot of trial and error, but i found that i was able to figure out pretty early on whether the dr i found was a good match for my body and symptoms.
good luck
