We don't know if my son has lyme, as he only has a few suspicious symptoms. But it seems that several times a week he talks in his sleep saying "no" and half-crying. I wonder if this is normal. My other kids don't do it. Did this happen to anyone's child with lyme?

Thanks,

tickbattler

How old is your son? Young children frequently relive the stressors of their day through bad dreams. Can you tell if it's truly nightmares or night terrors?

I don't know if nightmares are more common in children with Lyme, but I do know that nightmares are common in children, even if their siblings never had them.

On the other hand, anxiety is common in children with Lyme, and nightmares can sometimes be a manifestation of anxiety.

What other suspicious symptoms does your son have?

Both of mine had frequent nightmares prior to starting treatment.

I can't offer that it is Lyme specific.

We all had nightmares after Katrina.

Any other symptoms?

Hugs,

Geneal

Thanks all for your responses. My son's symptoms are listed in the my recent post asking for opinions on my 4 year old's Igenex test results.

Most of his symptoms can be those of someone without Lyme, so it is very difficult to determine if he has it.

Both of my kids have congenital Lyme. My son doesnt have any nightmares, but my 6 year old daughter seems to have nightterrors most nights. Dont know if it is the Lyme or not....but her sleep has gotten better with treatment.

YES, that is how it all started for my son.

Also, when he received IV treatment the nightterrors where horrible, just to fade away after sucessful treatment.

Now he sleeps lika peaceful baby!

They suspect I've had Lyme since I was little.

I've lived with nightmares, night terrors, sleep walking, and sleep talking, especially in my younger years.

None of my siblings have experienced the same.

My son tested positive by PCR at age 10 months. He screamed in his sleep for three years. My LLMD was very concerned, said it was a symptom of Lyme infection.

He was treated w/antibiotics for three years and now no longer screams but he's still a restless sleeper.

Don't know about it being a Lyme symptom, but you can help his sleep with B vitamins and B1, along with some calcium/magnesium and Vit. C.

There are many calcium/magnesium products that are either liquid or a powder that mixes with hot water to make a liquid. Also, you can get Vit. C crystals cheap and add them in to any liquid.

I personally haven't looked for B Complex as a liquid or B1.

Best,

Cass A

Its strange I was just going to ask were they night Terrors or nightmares and I noted you mentioned Night Terrors.

Night Terros are very common in children that have Lyme and co-infections. Ask your LLMD to run the Neuroscience panel for children this gives the chemical balances that can cause these tight terrors - here is the company information, if you want to PM me I can contact the doctor that leads this company as I know him:-

Company info: https://www.neurorelief.com/

Go to the 'Kidzone' Section and look for the Child Neurotransmitter Profile- 9700
hopefully your LLMD will know this lab as I have seen amazing work done by there protocols, all using natural products, neurotransmitter precursors, modulators and enzymatic cofactors

Hope that helps

I don't know about kids, but one of my more annoying symptoms is screaming nightmares. I wake in the middle of the night yelling at the top of my lungs becuase of a terrifying dream. So, it's possible it's a symptom for your child as well.

Good luck. It's a very disturbing symptom, and I'm being sent for a sleep study for both this and my horrible insomnia.
