My daughter was diagnosed with Lyme disease in December 2007. After we finally found a LLMD she was put on Biaxin and Ceftin after we ound out she also had Bartonella. She has been doing fine and actually started going back to school 1/2 days 3 weeks ago. She is still on the 2 antibiotics and supplements.

Yesterday she came to me saying that the back fot her neck hurt. I looked and there was a tick attached on the back of her neck with a bullseye around it. I removed the tick and cleaned the area. Today she woke up with a terrible headache and stiff neck. The bullseye is bigger and she slept almost all day.

We are going to our LLMD next week but I wanted to see what everyone else thinks about her reaction to the bite. I can't understand why she would have such a reaction so quickly.

Any info anyone can provide would be helpful.

Thanks,

Kim

my daughter fell sick immediately after tick bite twice. first time, it was clear something was not well, she became fussy and so tired, slept a lot too, not hungry etc. It took one day to get tummy aches, and fatigue.

I also fall sick very fast, in less than 48 hours, if the tick is infected.

People react different. Your daughter needs fast help.

I just wanted to add an update and say tahnks for the responses. I took my daughter back to her LLMD. We decided to heep her on her biaxin 1 tsp 2x a day and increased her ceftin to 2 tsp 2x a day.

I removed the tick from her on 5-20-2008 and on 05-22-2008 she had a 101 fever her glands in her neck were swollen and she slept all day 5-22-2008 and has had a headache ever since I removed the tick.

Even my LLMD could not believe how sick she was so fast. Luckily I had the tick so we sent the tick off to have it tested.

Thanks,

KIM

I am not afraid of Lyme persay if I get bit again at this point.

I think I am covered with current antibiotic regimen.

It is the co-infections. Yikes!

I am glad she got into the LLMD.

There just isn't any rest for the weary, huh?

Sending you both positive thoughts and prayers.

Hugs,

Geneal

...

as said earlier if BULLS-EYE RASH is still there, take a PHOTO

and put a ruler, $1 bill, or change next to it for size comparison, perhaps TODAY'S DATED NEWSPAPER as a reminder when you took photo.

good luck to your daughter; many rebitten here!! [group hug] [kiss]
