Yes. I would get sent to the principals office in grade school because I would laugh uncontrollably for no reason.
Otherwise I was the quietest, shyest girl in my grade.
I would have to plug my ears and close my eyes and think of something horrible to stop laughing and still this did not work sometimes.
But I haven't done this in a long time.

Hubby has had laughing fits from time to time while doing IV antibiotics (usually while he is actually getting the IV).
I actually looked it up and there is a type of epilepsy which involves uncontrollable laughter. Can't remember the name, but when he has a spell like this we just say he is having intergalactic epilepsy.
Obviously the antibiotics are interacting with a certain area of your brain to produce this symptom. I wouldn't be overly concerned unless it happens very frequently or continues on a fairly regular basis.

I do that too. Laughing, smiling, crying all at inappropriate times. Really embarrassing. Only started happening since I got sick. Hopefully it will go away as we heal.

I would think it's a brain (neuro) herx symptom -the "medical term" is emotional lability -
it was a common symptom when I used to work with patients who had strokes or traumatic brain injury etc
It can happen with crying too

Uncontrolled laughing is a classic reaction to stress for some people! But now you're on the way up, so it will probably subside. There might be a little of what I call "recursive factor" involved though-- the more it happens, the more hidden stress, so it happens yet more.... But don't worry- just take everything as positive as you can. "Stay cool, keep fighting and never give up"! Best wishes for your fast recovery! DaveS

I know exactly what you mean! When use to go to yoga, everyone was quiet..I would be laughing so hard..one time I nearly peed. What a mess! It is either, stress or nerves. How funny. Have fun with it, laughter cures:)
