Hi,
I have started back on my IV Rochiphin and feel like nanny poop.

I am so weak,my muscles ache in my legs and arms.

I have pounding in my head, sweating and just out of it.

But the weirdest thing is I can't stop laughing.
There is nothing funny,I just am in stitches.

I was going to a meditation group tonight, but I knew better.

As a kid I would always laugh at inappropriate times.

This is crazy,I'm in pain and all I can do is laugh.

Has anyone gone thru this?

This is no laughing matter,Ha,ha!!

It's probably hitting your brain in your ticklish spot!! NO kidding! It's affecting the limbic area, most likely.

Keep on laughing!!!! [lol] [spinning smile]

Yes. I would get sent to the principals office in grade school because I would laugh uncontrollably for no reason.

Otherwise I was the quietest, shyest girl in my grade.

I would have to plug my ears and close my eyes and think of something horrible to stop laughing and still this did not work sometimes.

But I haven't done this in a long time.

Hubby has had laughing fits from time to time while doing IV antibiotics (usually while he is actually getting the IV).

I actually looked it up and there is a type of epilepsy which involves uncontrollable laughter. Can't remember the name, but when he has a spell like this we just say he is having intergalactic epilepsy.

Obviously the antibiotics are interacting with a certain area of your brain to produce this symptom. I wouldn't be overly concerned unless it happens very frequently or continues on a fairly regular basis.

I do that too. Laughing, smiling, crying all at inappropriate times. Really embarrassing. Only started happening since I got sick. Hopefully it will go away as we heal.

me too! It drives my husband crazy and he gets mad when I do this. Doesn't believe this is related to Lyme.

It always happens at the worst/ most serious times, like when he's disiplining the kids or talking to me about something he's annoyed about.

I'm getting giggily thinking about it!

Seems like a good or pleasant sign of LD.

Why I keep having only nasty symptoms.
Laugh for a change would be great.

Wrrrr!

I would think it's a brain (neuro) herx symptom -the "medical term" is emotional lability -

it was a common symptom when I used to work with patients who had strokes or traumatic brain injury etc

It can happen with crying too

Uncontrolled laughing is a classic reaction to stress for some people!
But now you're on the way up, so it will probably subside. There might be a little of what I call "recursive factor" involved though-- the more it happens, the more hidden stress, so it happens yet more.... But don't worry- just take everything as positive as you can. "Stay cool, keep fighting and never give up"!
Best wishes for your fast recovery!

I know exactly what you mean! When use to go to yoga, everyone was quiet..I would be laughing so hard..one time I nearly peed. What a mess!
It is either, stress or nerves. How funny. Have fun with it, laughter cures:)
