While I was visiting my Parent's awaiting my MD appointment there was a report on Lyme on the local news.
I am not sure what station. I will find out. I am not from the Dallas / Ft. Worth area.
They discussed the outbreak of Lyme and how it is underdiagnosed. There was also a short dicussion on a new possible strain of Lyme called IDD.
Anyone happen to see this report last Wed. a.m.? Or have you heard of this new strain? It is supposidly from European ticks. Has some different sypmptoms from the ticks here in the U.S.

It's good to see the light shine on the complexity of this.
We also have to remember that there are over 300 strains of borrelia (or more?), world-wide.
Some may not be the worst bullies on the block but, even for those that are, most go undetected due to lack of good testing procedures. That is why a travel history and a clinical evaluation is so important.
