are they the same? are they both from chrysanthemums? i know they both work...but i just realized there are two different names. i just thought i was spelling one or the other wrong. but i have two products here and reading them off the label that is how they spell them.
any chemists out there? i guess i could ask my daughter but she has ordered me not to talk about lyme in her presence. i think that includes emails. she might not speak to me for months if i asked her. sad, huh? how some family members handle our lyme.

pyrethrin is the natural insecticide found in chrysanthenums. permithrin is a synthetic chemcial ( that is, man made) that is based on the chemical structure of pyrethrin.
Incidently, both of these chemicals belong to a family of chemicals known as pyrethroids. So, if you ever see a bottle on insect repellent and it just lists pyrethroids, there is no way of knowing if it is the natural or synthetic version of the chemical.
