I've had weak legs and poor balance for 10 mos.So this is not new,but much worse.I started Rocephin IV 3 weeks ago.First week was no different, then after that, there's no liiking back.My legs feel weaker, and my quads feel like massive lactic acid build up,like at mile 20 in a marathon. Also my shoulders are painful and so stiff.Could this be a herx?Toxins? I'm wondering if I should lower doses to 1g from 2g,,,a day.Very worrisome, heading for a wheelchair next

Hey beat...
Three weeks- sounds like it could be a herx.
Lactic acid- to help get rid of it.... drink water with fresh lemon juice... or do it the easy way and make lemon aid.
I would not adjust your meds without the doctors say so. Ever. They may say to... but then they may not.
If this is a herx... now you can understand why some folks say...
"Is this a herx... or am I gonna die?"
VERY nasty stuff you are going through... for sure.
And I am so sorry you are feeling so badly. I do hope it lightens up some for you soon!

It is definately a herx. I was burning for 6 staright months, every day, with maybe 3 weeks break. I was not being treated then, my immune system was fighting it. It took me a while to realize I was herxing all that time. Now, I don't burn like that, but just a little. I can function. Now, I mostly have the head stuff, vision and ear stuff, more than the body stuff.

Yep, Tincup hit the nail on the head.
I started getting the burning legs and feet, and my right leg went partially paralyzed just from 250mg of Zith. to start me out.
You can call your LLMD and ask about it...they might have you lower the dose. But I wouldn't lower it without talking to the Dr. first.

Hi All I did check with llmd,he said I could lower it to 1g,for a couple of days, then try the 2g's again. This is day 2 back down to 1g,I do feel the difference, maybe feeling terrible was a blessing if I am improving.I've just been sick so long and told by the neurologist's that I'm dying, they say go home and enjoy your life."WHAT?!!!" After a while you start to say,,who am I to try to out disgnose all these neuro degress? I can deal with the pain and suffering if I knew I was going to get better,it's the doubting that hurts,a lot.
