Grandaughter...rash, no itch..ankle.

Does the lyme rash EVER begin to fade within 1 hour?

No tick seen. Play ground preschool (NC = endemic) wood chips...

I'm very concerned...did send pics of lyme rashes to daughter...

Add this on top of my worries for our daughter (age 30)... ob-gyn who suggested today... drug to put her into early menopause.

Is she thinking cancer?

"Does the lyme rash EVER begin to fade within 1 hour?"

Some folks have mentioned after a shower/heat it can be more vivid.. and then fade.. but I've not heard of a Lyme rash going away that fast.

It is possible to have a mosquito bite that will blow up and then fade in an hour. Could she be allergic to mosquitoes? I am... and that is what happens to me.

As for the early memopause...

Could be for birth control? I am totally guessing.

Could be for heavy cycles, for ovarian cysts... etc.

I shouldn't even speak to that... because I don't know. Just tossing out some thoughts.

Let us know what you find out... ok?

Thinking about you!

Daycare facility...wood chips and at this time of year...small black flies bite. Why don't they use the "rubber" ground cover?

But they live in lyme endemic NC...and so grandma in Florida is always "on guard".

My sis (with lyme) did not see a tick, did not see a rash...I am in unfamiliar territory...re: rashes.

When daughter went camping, I mailed her Lily of The Valley cologne and cream (tick repellant- safe, smells good).

After seeing what my sis has gone thru with lyme...I am paranoid.

Many problems happening with daughter...MANY eye specialists...including the best in the U.S. for dry eyes.

She doesn't close her eyes completely (nerve...inflammation linked). It is vital we close our eyes completely.

Photosensitivity. On the computer all day (we don't blink enough)...

Docs supprised that steroid drops from Calif (NO preservatives) did not make an impact...nor has any other eye med (Restasis, etc.)

Something is going on...so far unexplained with my 30 year old daughter...and God knows...she's had her fill of problems...!!!

Medical Mystery.

I'm very nervous. I don't like the ob-gyn's comment about the labia skin tab looking very strange...and sending it off to pathology (!) and her comment about putting Carrie on a drug that triggers early menopause (decrease estrogen because estrogen feeds many cancers).

Daughter has lost weight...barely wears size 2...eye probs., kidney infection with bleeding, Yaz BC drug increases potassium, so had to go off when kidney infec. reared - NO BC pills now...only Solodyn to control acne, rectal pressure, stress from divorce, new job where black flecks (mold...she is allergic) pour out of air vents...

Grandaughter...premature labor and delivery..pyloric stenosis...post op infection...

Geeze...!!! Awaiting results of CT scan of her eyes and now pathology of odd skin tab.

Yes..in very rare instances, they can become malignant.

I PRAY we are not facing grandaughter exposed to lyme on top of all of this!

I sent daughter links of pics of lyme rashes and told her to apply lidocaine liberally...

Lidocaine should be injected under a tick before removal.

Blocks the acetylcholine receptors...keeping acetlycholine levels higher, longer.

From a Canadian MD...years ago.

Makes sense. Perfect sense.

"lidocaine derivatives that act as open-channel blockers of the acetylcholine (ACh) receptor"

Your daughter went camping?
And this was prior to the eye problems?
And was prior to the skin tab?

Are path reports back from the skin tab?
Does your daughter have a copy of them?
(to justify the major hormone intervention)

She is under stress?

Weight loss?
Kidney problems? (how is her water intake?)

Those might be things she might consider
if she wanted to step back and look at a
larger picture.

Marnie...

Can she see Dr. J in SC? Or head north to VA? for a doctor there? At least to have another opinion and tests? I think there is a doc in NC/... but others would need to supply that info.

Have you considered Bartonella?

Also... Labcorp has an antibody panel for several strains of Bart. Insurance should pay for this test... no problem.. through her regular doctors locally.

I know you are worried... and I don't want you to worry... but looking at this information from the outside- not being related to her- I would suggest a good LLMD to rule in or out what you are thinking.

If it were my kid... I would push for it. You know I wouldn't say that unless I meant it.

Let me know if I can help in any way.

In the meantime... an appointment for both of them wouldn't hurt my feelings at all. Get 'er done!

Good luck!!!

1. Abby...4 yr old grandaughter. Rash went away fast- few hours - and her mom said it did not look like the lyme rash links I sent her. Whew!

Like many here...I am paranoid about ticks, mosquitoes, etc. and rashes now.

2. Carrie...our daughter. We are awaiting results of her CT eye scan done on Sat. and the pathology results of the "unusual" skin tab removed yesterday (Tues.)

Waiting for test results is so hard.

Thanks for your input and prayers.
