I've been trying to find more natural products to use for lotion since my mcs seems to be worsening.
I couldn't tolerate coconut oil, even just on my face. I guess i'm too fragile for the antibacterial/fungal action of it.
So I tried organic ghee and had increased heart rate/agitated feeling all day. I've tried it twice, and it happened both times. I can't figure out why something like this would happen, I can eat butter without problems.
Any ideas? Other ideas for safe lotion?
thanks

- I'd feel agitated with any oil on my face or body. It makes me too hot and that makes me very agitated. For me, it's simple: my skin must breathe or I will explode.
I just use nothing on my face and it's beautiful, if I do say so myself. (Hee-hee, ho-ho, ha-ha)
Quite frankly, although coconut oil has a reputation for being antimicrobial, I've never sensed any indication of that at all. But, on the face, it's not likely to cause any kind of herx.
I think it's just holding in too much heat and preventing your skin from breathing.
I take a couple tablespoons of coconut oil a day by mouth - to help my brain.
My mouth has never benefited from any antimicrobial action of coconut oil and I would still have many ulcers, etc. before I started Sea Buckthorn oil for my mouth.
So, I just don't buy that in my body, coconut oil is going to have much effect at all fighting germs. It's beauty for me lies in it nutrients - and support that way.
Others may have various effects but, still, just on the face is not likely to cause action from inside the body other than from trapping heat, I would think. -

Oils on my skin make me itch. Tried olive oil and coconut oil...nope!
I bought Jason's aloe vera lotion recently .. pretty good.. 70% aloe... for the body.
I use Merlot on my face or Kiss My Face.

There is no salt in it, just organic ghee. I seem to be having trouble with some fats. Had 1 cup homemade chicken broth yesterday and had a similar, but not as strong, of a reaction. There was some fat from the top in it.
I don't know why I would have such a strong reaction to small amounts of animal fat, but had no problem eating ice cream daily before I quit a couple months ago. Makes no sense to me. My symptoms get more strange all the time...
