My first Western Blot came back borderline and I am waiting to be retested in 2-4 weeks. In the meantime, I was put on oral Doxy 100mg 2/day.

I am on my last day of the doxy, but I am amazed at how different I feel. I have my energy back, my hip pain is dulled to a throb, and I actually can mentally focus (most of the time).

I researched Lyme after my initial test was positive and figured out i was exibiting neuro symptoms from long term lyme.

I am worried that my 2nd western blot will again fail on me. But I do think I have Lyme because when I started Doxy, everything got ALot worse.

This is called Herxing, right? If I got better from the Lyme meds, it means I probably have it right? Does anyone know if I should expect the symptoms to come back while off the meds?

If my 2nd test comes back negative or borderline again, I don't know if my husband will agree to spend the $ to send me to an LLMD.

So worried and confused!

I would order the movie Under Our Skin (www.underourskin.com) TODAY! Watch it with hubby. He will then understand why the medical profession is how it is about Lyme and how you need to see a Lyme specialist. He will be shocked to see how sick you will get with delayed treatment.

Beg for more doxy. Go to a walk in clinic and tell them you got bitten by a tick and think you might have Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever ... they have to give you abx (and it's the truth, you WERE bitten).

With your reaction to meds you need to see an LLMD for evaluation.
