Hello, I was diagnosed with Lyme in 2 of 08 it is thought that I contracted it in the summer of 07.

My blood test came back positive for 3 bands in the IGM catergory but nothing in IGGs, Oh and my SED rate and CRP is also quite high in Blood tests.

I'm not really quite sure with that means so I hope I explained it well.

There is some controversy on whether or not it is even Lyme disease, some docs I've been say yes and some say It can't be.

I have a ton of symptoms and they are explained by Lyme.

I have an appointment with a LLMD in mid July but have not received any kind of treatment since April.

I am sick of waiting while I feel like I'm getting worse, does anyone know if its sounds like Lyme or something else?

Thanks any feedback is appreciated!!

Yes it certainly is possible.
Can you post which bands you had positive?
So glad you are going to see an LLMD!

I also only received positive results on my IgM and IND on my IGG after being sick for 4 years.

A few things to consider. First, the Lyme drained my IgG gammaglobulins (these are what make up the antibodies which they test for). The low number was discovered briefly before the Igenex test was run and may explain why the IgG are not very strong - because the antibodies cannot form without the gammaglobulins.

Also, my doc said that because the virus reproduces and reactivates over and over, the IgG is often not as strong because the process keeps demanding IgM antibodies, making it look on paper like a new infection when in fact it is not a new infection, just reproduction.

Look under the "Dr. C explanation for the Western Blot test" in this section to make more sense of which bands are very important. An LLMD will certainly be helpful too.

Like Darla for me. The most I've ever had in IgG is ++ on band 41 and nothing on others. On IgM, I've had + or ++ or +++ on a total of 6 different bands at different times over the past 1 1/2 years. I was very, very sick - ill for about 1 1/2 years prior to dx.

Everything else was ruled out - sometimes two times. When I was treated for LD, I got better. So, I'm very satisfied with my dx - and my test results were probably much like yours.

Thank you all for your replies I appreciate it.

I'm still a bit confused though should I bring the Igenex Application form to the LLMD with me? How much does it Costs?

What or how is it different then the Elisa or Western Blot? Sorry I don't know if its the Lyme thats making me confused or what.

Also I was positive for Babesiosis and was given nothing special to treat this. I scared and just want to get my life back I really how this doctor will help me.

One last question, how do the LLMDs know if it is Neuro or not?

Thank you all for your help, this truly is an amazing website. I feel blessed to have found it.

I don't really know how to read the results but my IGMs were positive but absolutely no IGGs were.
