Some of you may remember giving me advice on this topic so I feel like it's about time for an update.
I saw my LLMD for the first time back in March. Unfortunately due to staff mistakes, etc, I did not get the appropriate lab tests done until June.
After getting the tests done and while waiting for results I was started on Amoxil, Biaxin, Plaquenil, Nystatin, and Enula to begin treatment based on symptoms.
I finally got my results about 3 weeks ago. "Very positive" for Lyme, Babesia, Mycoplasma, and Chlamydia Pneumonia. Also low adrenals.
It is such a huge relief to finally know, for sure, with positive results, exactly what i'm fighting. After 4 years of suffering i'm finally on the right track. It gives me hope.
So, i've been on Mepron for about 3 weeks now. Talk about a rough experience. That's why I haven't been around here lately. Having tons of head pressure, dizziness, extreme debilitating nausea, major gastroparesis flare, sweating, and body aches. Not so fun.
I've also switched from Amoxil to Bicillin LA shots this week. Seem to be tolerating the Bicillin well. Giving it to myself twice a week. Unfortunately, my butt still hurts from the first shot. Took my second one yesterday now both sides hurt. Any advice on preventing this muscle pain? I've followed the tips compiled on the newbie page but still hurting. I think my muscle is too small, I really have no butt! LOL
I'm also taking supplements to support my body and help with detox. I'm ready to start getting better!
Thank all of you here on Lymenet for sharing your time, advice, support, encouragement... I greatly appreciate you!

I hope you're taking Zithromax with the Mepron? Mepron will lose it's effectiveness without it! I think Biaxin may do the same as the Zithro, but not sure. They are both macrolides.
Also, hope this is not overwhelming....but many recommend taking Artemisinin with these babesia meds. You might want to talk to your LLMD about it. And, last suggestion....some say that you need 23 g of fat with each dose of Mepron for it to be absorbed properly. (trust me, I hate this).
The reason I am giving you these suggestions is that my Mepron treatment helped me some the first time, but not as much as I would have liked, so now I'm on it again. I wish I would have taken care of all this the first time around!
Glad you are having some reactions though, even though it is hard to go through!
I am on Mepron (2nd time), Zith, and Amox, and soon Plaquenil. Interesting that you switched the the Bicillin. I have been considering that.
Best of luck with your treatment!
