I cannot get a hold of my LLMD at this time, not for over a week.

I am extremely ill from Mepron and Azithromycin, and have been on it for about 110 days.

I am in horrific agony, I feel like I have 3rd degree burns all over the inside of me, and I am being pealed alive.

How long can I stop it to be safe and then maybe restart it, It has a half life of 68 hours, so I was thinkinging to stop it for 5 days or more.

I am t0oo sick to answer questions, just please post response.

I am only on Mepron and azithromycin, regular dose. NO one should have to be this ill to heal,

something is wrong.

Thanks,

Trish

try cutting your mepron dose in half until you feel better

if that still isn't helping, then try taking one fourth the dose

i've read its better to cut back on the mepron rather than just stopping it all together.

hopefully doc will get back with you.

thanks,

I am taking 1tsp Mepron twice a day, should I try 1/2 tsp twice a day or

1 tsp once a day.

What have you heard?

ALSO, I have read some on here are doing this combo for 3 weeks and stopping it for 1 week, so that means they are stopping the Mepron for one week.

thanks,

Trish

you might call your pharmacist. They are quite knowledgeable, and have good reference material available to them.

If you are unable to find other info I would think that stopping until next week will not set you back too far.

Just my two cents, not a medical opinion.

As mentioned above, some LLMD's (mine included) prescribe Mepron 3 weeks on/ 1 week off. When I once had a really bad air hunger flare up, I went off of it for three weeks and it helped me loads to do so.

Hope you start to feel better soon.

I would stop it until you can talk to your LLMD. This does not sound right.

I think stopping it is better than taking a lower dose that may cause resistance.

Breaks can be good .... take time to detox .... I have taken a long break for several weeks. Overall, I think it was a good thing for me even though it caused a setback. You're only talking about week .... in the end, that won't make much of a difference.

I think I would stop taking the Mepron until you can talk to your doctor. I don't think it should be making you feel so ill...maybe you're having a reaction to the Mepron. I don't think it would hurt to stop for a little while. My doctor has me do 3 weeks on the Mepron and 1 week off. So every month I take a full week off of Mepron. I would continue taking the zithromax, though so that the babesia does not become resistant to the Mepron that is still in your body. Also, you might want to talk to your doctor about adding artimisinin to your babesia regimen. If you truly can't tolerate Mepron, there are other options. I'm not sure about this, but I think some people take a combination of Bactrim and something else. Also, there is another medicine that is similar to Mepron, but not quite as potent (I forget the name of it). Anyway, I don't think Mepron is your only option, but maybe your body just needs a little break from it. It's very powerful stuff and hard on the body.
