Hello:

This relates to a sx I a have had only sporadically in the last 2 years...well before my recent lyme/bart dx. Realize anxiety can cause this, but don't think so in my case. Only change I've made is 2 new abx several days ago, Biaxin XL and Rifampin for Bart tx.

I feel like there's a tightening behind my Adam's apple (I am male). I can talk/swallow fine, but when not eating or talking, the tightness persists.

Not at all painful, however, I find I have to 'burp' myself to let off gasses from esophagus/stomach that would normally 'vent' when I don't have this tightness.

I will stress that this could possibly be a cervical/mechanical problem in my case since I do have disk bulges in this area, but has anyone else with Lyme/Bart dx experienced this?

Confident it will go away, even though it once lasted almost 2 weeks in late 2006, about the time my neuro sx's (feet/hand neuropathy etc) became obvious. Again, not that troubling a sx, but was curious if anyone else knows this and it's cause?

Kindest Regards, MBB3

I have this off and on. On right now. It feels like my throat could almost close up, but like you said, I can talk, eat, etc. I think it is a Lyme symptom. I never had it before I became ill.

I have this happen off and on. Never really knew what it was because I never saw any mention of it as a symptom.

Glad this website is around so I know I'm not a nut case.
