Ok, this is getting out of hand for me. I have Lyme, no doubt about that, caught it early.
Been off treatment for about a month now. Now it seems like the only symptom I have right now, is my worst one yet.
Feel like its in my brain, my head. Feels like I have a point in the back of my head, then when I start walking long distance. I feel really off
balance. Almost painful, no headaches, maybe mild dizziness, sometimes weakness in the legs and arms.Feels like Im walking sideways at times. I been living
with this for about 2 weeks now and its really irritating. The other day I wanted to die, cause I hated the feeling. I cant even enjoy the sunny
days because of this weird head feeling? Is it vertigo? or something else. What can I drink or eat to releave it a little bit.
My next doctors appointment isnt till next week.
Hope someone can help, thanks.
p.s. feels like im drunk, but without alhocol

I am sorry to hear about this. I, too, have similar feelings. I call it derealization, but yours may be somewhat different.
Hopefully you can address this problem in your treatment. Until you do, here are some coping methods I use:
1. Know exactly where I plan to go before leaving the house. A sense of purpose helps keep the feeling from becoming overwhelming
2. Avoid wandering around large, busy places without a clear plan, e.g., Walmart, Penn Station. Bring a shopping list. The distractions (light, sound) can be overwhelming.
3. I avoid driving. This may not be possible for you. When I do drive, I stay in the slow lane and talk myself through everything. "Stop sign? That means to stop. OK."
4. Have a mental or written list of the most important things to keep with you. I have a "top 5," which I can easily count off on my fingers (daughter, money, keys, phone, bank card).
This helps me from letting the spacey, unreal feeling from taking over and leaving me stranded.
Hopefully this time passes quickly for you, and that the above suggestions can help.

Hey Tony, derealization and loss of balance is no fun...sounds like you're experiencing a little of both.
I think you said you're off meds? Get back on them!
I have both symptoms too, intermittenly. My balance is really bad if I've been sitting down for a while.
I went to the movies the other night with my fiance and when the movie was over I stood up - and promptly fell right over and landed in the lap of the stranger next to me. I was mortified!
My fiance picked on me all night and was like, "I mean, if you wanted to give him a lap dance..."
Of course he knows about my balance issues, he was just trying to make me laugh.
Hang in there. Go to the doctor and get back on meds...
