Hi All, I went camping a week ago, today noticed a very large rashy blotch on my neck that looks like pictures I have seen on lymes bites. I just read that the antibodies do not begin to show up in the blood until 3 weeks after the bite. So do I just wait 3 weeks and then test? Also, I have been abnormally tired the last 3 days, would symptoms show that soon? Any help truly appreciated, Best to All

paste it to NEW POST in seeking dr.

show state you are needing ... LLMD needed in ____.

go to lower left corner and mark box for all replies to come to you. click send.

in my newbie package links; use search and EDIT, FIND, and type in lyme symptoms. hit enter until you come to DETAILED LIST SYMPTOMS!

fatigue is BIG ONE!!! it's one we all suffer with 24/7!

other info and links of value

Fyi: we have over 1000 viewers daily; 200 - 400 posting/replying so we all must manage our time well; so specific titles get our time/replies. NON-SPECIFIC ONES, I SOB, SCROLL ON BY!
*************************************************************

Also, please be VERY SPECIFIC in subject line what you will be discussing.

Example:

PLEASE show your positive, +/-, and IND numbers from both western blot IGG AND IGM blood tests; do it this way please!

IGM ... do same thing for IGG below IGM
*******************************************

18 +
41 +/-
78 IND

When you post or reply, please break up your solid, continuous block text [Smile]
welcome to the board! many of us have neuro lyme where we can NOT read long solid block text and be able to comprehend and read it as is.

please edit your post by CLICKING PAPER/PENCIL ICON to right of your name. that opens up BOTH subject line and body text.

now please break up your WORDY SENTENCES into one sentence paragraphs. Then hit ENTER KEY ``THREE`` after each paragraph; we need that space for comprehension.

if you are NOT a wordy person, you can do 2 or 3 total ok. do this for your entire post.

NOTE: you do NOT have to use "", just show the name of person you are responding to, and then type your comment.

IF you need to use "", PLEASE DELETE "BOLD" CODES so it's regular type text we read vs. the DARK, HARSH/PAINFUL BOLDING.

specifically, delete the first 4 characters of 2ND LINE of a ""

[QB] just delete these 4 characters, and BOLDING is GONE! my eyes will really appreciate that; it's one very bad side effect of my having lyme for 38.5 years!! xox

then go to left hand corner and mark box to receive ALL REPLIES, and click EDIT SEND

we thank you for helping us; [Wink] otherwise, we will SOB, SCROLL ON BY, since we can't read to help you. If I see posts like this, I SOB them; to hard on me. I'm also in the early stages of losing my eyesight from diabetes retinopathy. [Frown]

Hello Alton and welcome,

Please make sure you get a picture of that rash. Place a ruler or coin in the shot for size comparison, and then get another with your face in it too.

It would also be a good idea to have it physician verified for your records.

Yes, it can be true that antibodies will take a few weeks for your system to produce. Therefore, testing immediately after a known bite is usually not recommended.

However, waiting for those few weeks to try and get a positive test before treating is also not recommended!

An evaluation by an educated physician is critical, but may take some time. Therefore, it may be prudent to get into your local doc for some Doxy while waiting.

If it is Lyme or another co-infection, the sooner you begin treating the better.

Alton

Do Not Wait for test-

The First 2 to 3 weeks are the MOST Important-

Treating Earily these diseases are easy to threat=

If you wait Bugs take Hold and you could be sick
forever-

Instead of costing $50 for meds early it could cost you $50,000 or more and ruin your life -

Get Doxicycline 400 to 600 mg spread threw the day
for minimum of 6 weeks--Jay--

Alton,

This is the club you don't want to belong to. Better be proactive and nip this in the bud now while you have the chance.

A rash, especially a bullseye, is diagnostic of Lyme.. no test needed.

Yes! Get a photo of the rash ASAP!!
