My family doctor ordered Lyme PCR test in which results came back "not detected".

Lyme AB IGG/IGM ELISA test came back 0.78 + .
says < or = 0.80 indicates no antibody detected

My question is what does the + mean?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Don't know what the + means if they're saying you're negative.

But way back in '92 when I tested at .79 PCR, I was considered borderline high and treated with doxy for a month.

relapsed in a few months and tested at 8.1 and treated for six months on doxy.

A few months later, I was at .31 so the treatment helped but relapsed again later.

Unfortunately, the whole thing was too little too late.

If you have symptoms, you need treatment!

Do NOT rely on the %^&$ ELISA! Your life is worth more than that!!

It is notorious for false NEGATIVES.

The PCR is GREAT if/when it comes back positive, but a negative does NOT mean you don't have Lyme.

Please locate an LLMD as soon as you can and be evaluated. You need a Western Blot through Igenex Lab in CA.

www.igenex.com

Get test #188 and 189.

I pushed for the Western Blot but PCP would only or elisa and PCR.
I have an appointment with a LLMD on Monday.
Thanks to all for your help.

He probably KNEW the PCR and the ELISA were likely to come back negative.

I'm glad you have an appointment with an LLMD. I HOPE you got the name from this site.
