Does anyone get very bad NAUSEA the next day after having alcohol the night before? I never had this problem till the past few time I've had a few drinks...Also, all symptoms are also worse the next couple of day after alcohol.
Thanks, Steve

Ohhh, Steve. I hope you are sitting down.
I don't know how to tell you this, but lyme patients have to avoid alcohol.
There's really no way to get well, even better from lyme, if any alcohol is in the picture.
However, if you are looking at an early case of lyme, your treatment may be short compared with someone who has had this a while.
Lyme is one of the most toxic infections known to man. It's very similar to botulism. The liver simply cannot handle any alcohol on top of that.
The liver is vital in getting well from lyme for many reasons. Treatment is not easy and as one of the co-authors of the ILADS's treatment guidelines says, this is the time for the very best of health habits.
Treatment failure is nearly guaranted if alcohol is used. And, with lyme - as you will see - your first chance to get it right is the best chance.
After that, it can take a very long time and a very long road of an even stricter diet.
Remember, though, that felling better - getting past lyme - is a world better than having a drink. Most of us are (seemingly) very nearly drunk anyway - or feel like a bad hangover without having had the fun of the party - without so much as even smelling a cork.
I see you have just 7 posts, so some obvious questions follow, but I'll let others take over from here.
One book you might get is Singleton's "The Lyme Disease Solution" - it's at Amazon.
It explains a lot. Also see the NEWBIE threads at the top of the medical forum list.
Do not even attempt to mix alcohol with flagyl or tinidazole [tindamax]... You will become horribly nauseated. You can't even use mouthwash while on flagyl.
According to Dr Burrascano, the two main reasons for failing Lyme treatment are the use of alcohol and lack of adequate rest.

I'm not taking any Meds right now and never have to date. I have an appointment with an LLMD the end of the month I think its 100% sure I have lyme. So if I'm not taking any Meds I'll still get sick with ALCOHOL??? Thanks for the help. Steve

For some reason, we Lymies are very sensitive to alcohol. I found way back that I could not tolerate it.
Even 1/2 of a beer would make me sick. I finally gave it up....only to find out 30+ yrs later that I had Lyme. {I'd had it for years and years.}

If you have lyme and you drink, you are cementing your chances of ever getting well, even if you are not taking meds.
You will further damage your liver which, if you have lyme, is already comprised.
The lyme bacteria is very toxic. Alcohol is very toxic, especially in someone who has a toxic infection.
If you have lyme, you may not know it yet, but you will be facing an uphill battle. If you want a chance at seeing a normal life again, it would be best to avoid all alcohol.
I am glad you have an appt. with an LLMD set up.
in the meantime, you might want to get Singleton's "The Lyme Disease Solution" (AMAZON)
and go to www.ilads.org ILADS and see the treatment guidelines.
Oh, if you feel well enough to date, there is no reason you can't go out. Just opt for mineral water with a lime or something like that.
Believe me, we don't tell you these things to be mean, but many here learned after the fact. We don't want others to get sicker.
Good luck to you.
