i am still on flagyl and amoxy but i'm thinking i may have to stop.
i am getting bad muscle pain. it's in the large hip joint, wrists and ankles. also my skin is itching, but it's mostly left leg from the hip to my knee. it's not broken out but, man, the itching is bad.
i used calamine last night to help. also the palms of my hands itch. my eyes are dark red in the morning but it clears up.
i am having burning abdominal pain, some loose stools in the morning. no temperature.
i'm also on diovan and nadolol for blood pressure and i understand diovan has a lot of side effects.
the flagyl dosage is 1500 per day but i had to cut it down to 1000.
i just don't think i can take it.
anybody got any ideas?
i'm pretty much on water and liquids.
how in the world do you treat other illnesses when you have lyme?

I totally understand what you mean. I stayed on the Flagyl until I could take it no more! It was sooo hard - the bad taste in your mouth and all that pain. Wrists, ankles and hip definitely and fingers too for me. I guess we have a lot of cysts to kill.
I had to ramp up to the full dose. Did you try that? I know some doctors pulse it. Mine said no for some reason but I didn't completely listen. I gave myself a break of a day or so every so often and that seemed to help a lot.
I didn't notice itching skin from it. I hope you aren't allergic. Of course it could be Lyme in the skin - so hard to know.
The good news is that when I came off, I felt better than I had in years. Then I starting flaring again and I am on Clindamycin and Bactrim.
Hang in there! I hope you get some relief soon!!
