Tuesday I will get my results. I tested for Bart/Babs/EBV/Mycoplasma and of course Lyme, which I already have. So if I have thos co-infections
or at least one. Please tell me y experience, which one should I hit first and what types of abx's should I use and for how long. Yes I read Dr. B treatment guidline but it is a little bit confusion
Especially when you trying to concentrte on the computer.
Your input matters to me and nope my doctor is not LLMD, hard to find in germany.
Did Doxy for 20 days in April, then Rocephin in June for 14 days..
I will beat this nightmare since I caught it early!!!!
Thanks, Tony G

all but EBV and babesia will respond to the typical mix of ABX that are used with Lyme. EBV is of course a virus and ABX won't do much except perhaps allow your immune system to improve enough to fight it. There are anti virals (ie. acyclovir etc.) but I don't know how well they work with EBV.
Babesia is a different story al together. It is a parasite that is very similar to malaria. In fact if your blood is tested using a microscope it can easily be confused with malaria. It is treated with antimalarials.
If you have a good relationship with your Dr, you might have him try to contact Dr Gaser in Graz Austria for some background information on lyme treatment. Dr Gaser is well known and respected in the field.

A good book to read is The Lyme Disease Solution by Ken Singleton, MD. He is a LLMD in the states.
It is very thorough and he addresses abx treatment as well as supplements and alternative therapies. There is also a good index at the back.
It is available through Amazon.com, among other places. Not sure about the shipping to Germany, though.

I have had high EBV/HHV-6 titers too with lyme and tried Valtrex for a while with my abx but it didn't do much. Valcyte will hit the viruses harder but can be very toxic to the liver so I didn't want to go there....
My feeling is that viruses will be handled by the body once you clear/suppress lyme and co's...
Of course, you can also attack viruses through herbals too.
It seems many people with lyme also have high viral titers...lyme helps to reactivate once dormant viruses no matter how well our bodies handled them in the past...
