After completing a 1 month treatment of doxy, my LLMD put me on 500mg of zithromax once a day for 2 months (im about one week into zithro). i also eat yogurt and take acidophilus daily.

stiff neck/muscles are gone and the fatigue has lessened. i have random headaches that go away with a small dose of ibuprofen.

i am feeling pretty good overall.however, i get horrible stomach issues within 15 minutes of taking the zithromax...

would anyone care to share their experiences with this drug?

also, is there any effect on libido with zithro?

Hi Angela,

Glad that you are feeling better!

I am Zithromax, 500 mg a day. It really helped me quite a bit also. It can cause stomach upset and indigestion too.

I found that if I take it with food it is tolerated much better, and I take as far away from acidophilus as possible.

Are you also taking yeast fighting supplement in addition to your probiotics and following a low carb/sugar diet?

This will help in the prevention of candida/yeast complications due to long term abx.

There are lots of suggestions for this at the top in the library, or use the "search" feature" for anything you would like to research.

Best in health!

I'm glad the zith is working for you and that you can tolerate it that well.

It gives me terrible depression and an exacerbation of symptoms on 1/4 of a 250 mg pill for only taking it 3 days. Very fatigued. I wish I could tolerate it.

This drug is so strong, has a half life of 68 hours! It kicked my rear all over the place and in less than a week I had to stop, the herx so intense I was as close to catatonic as one can be.

My son made it 2 weeks and had to stop.

Hope you continue to feel good.
