I haven't addressed detox issues yet either but I would imagine that they are suspected when various treatment regimens fail to produce adequate results...

Ditto to that response.
I thought I had beat Lyme by 2004. And guess what, I did!
It was the biotoxin gene I didn't know about causing the toxins to recirculate into my body keeping me sick (although I was still functioning) but, that coupled with the discovery of Bart, kept me on a steady decline until I finally caved in Sept 2007.
My philosophy is, if you've treated the Lyme and coinfections agressively and STILL are sick, you really need to take a look at your abilty to detox.
I herxed just as hard on cholestyramine as I did on the Rifampin and Zith for Bart treatment.
Now I take CSM 2 times a day with my herbs and mesosilver and I don't herx at all. I am so much LESS toxic.
Dr. S in FL had me on cholestyramine ALONE for 2 straight mos before he would even treat the Bart because he said my body was so toxic. Good move.
