How could they know 100K people have already gotten this in NY? No test. This must be wrong. In fact, no one knows how many have this type of borrelia.

Errors are still just peppered into this article. That old, "24 hour attachment time" thing and just deer ticks.
Dr. F's quote "typcial rash" with lyme can be misleading, too, as some may think "typical" means usual, most of the time, or all the time, with every case.
Still, some important information here. I just wish every article that had anything important would not also contain ever more errors or misconceptions.
This was in the news, even 2 years ago. It's not really new, it's just that it slid back under the rug. -

In his talk at the Toronto Lyme Conference (Oct. 2011) Dr H. said "Borrelia miyamotoi is showing up in ticks in Hyde Park, NY. This strain is in Japan. We can�t test for it."
Obviously, researchers are able to test for it. But, the U.S. doctor's can't order a commercial test for it. I think that is the main point. If you have this strain, you WILL get a NEGATIVE lyme test.

Yes, I thought I had heard about this 2 yrs ago .. and then they said it had been around awhile before that!! But they didn't tell the public!!!
Razzle.. I bet it's just newly discovered by researchers.. Probably has been around undetected!
