I wondered the same thing. I was told there have been numerous tries with Oprah. It can't hurt to keep sending our stories. How many people have to get sick before someone will listen and try to educate everyone, including Doctors! It would be great to get someone with a lot of viewing like Oprah.

jan and abby,
fyi, we've worked our buns off with emails to the show and on OPRAH'S LYME MESSAGE BOARD where we had between 200-300 LYME STORIES there requesting lyme programs!!
dr. oz might be....but he limits it to a FEW MINUTES ONLY! no justice to just hit the basics in 2-4 minutes!
you could do SEARCHES but going to top
type in OPRAH medical subject line any date membership no. //// use mine, 6147

I found some old issues of O, 2-3 years old. I found a small ad in one about lyme disease. It was by Turn The Corner.
So, maybe lyme isn't on Oprah's radar, but somebody on her staff knows a little something about it--whoever worked on that project.
I've known I have lyme for a year now, so I'd notice if the ad appeared again, and I'm sure it hasn't.

But a few minutes from Dr. Oz would be a start, and caries a lot of weight. I'm going to write to him.

i've tried so many times with her...i think she asked for lyme stories once-there was a special place to send them. i think she's still scared of being controversial ever since the hamburg thing. plus anyone with that much money might be involved with ins and drug companies
i hate to think this about her-but i have written to her over a 10 year period at least
maybe get a celebritiy with lyme to contact her

True, just in the 2+ years that I've been reading Lymenet discussions, many have tried, not just with Oprah but with too many to mention, and no one wants
to touch it, at least not for more than 5 minutes. You would think with Oprah being so interested in
books and the people that write them that having on people such as Rebecca Wells / Amy Tan and
Jordan Fisher Smith would be something that would make an interesting show.
But as Ipkayak said it may be just too controversial. It sure would get the word out though.
