Okay, I have to start this topic because it has me freaked out! I read that dust mites can carry Lyme or coinfections! Is this true and common?
If so, we are doomed, dust mites are everywhere....how do you avoid?

If this is true there's nothing we can do. I'm going to try not to think about it.

I dust, vacuum often and change the sheets every few weeks. What more can you do not to go crazy. If it were that easy though, everyone in my house would be suffering.

If that's the case, I'm doomed. I haven't been able to OCD clean in like 4 years - no energy.

I read another article today about this - Bb, Babs and Bart all carried by dust mites. I can't believe this is that frequent though because everyone would be sick! All of my neighbors are fine and they all have dust in their house, LOL. http://www.babesiabook.com/articles/bartonellanewinfo2008.html

They sell covers for your mattress that completely encapsulate your mattress and zip up. They make them for pillows also. They are made of a different material than regular mattress pads so that the dust mites can't get through.
I had to get them for my daughter b/c she is allergic to dust. I have them on my pillows also. My daughter's pediatrician told me about them.
