Is it true that Wal-Mart has the best prices?

I know they have four dollar specials on some generics, but i didn't see any of my drugs on their list.

The most expensive drug i have right now is Mepron. Anybody know where the cheapest place is?

It would be great to get a list going so we can compare different pharmacies, so if you post, can you please include your state? thanks, all!

Mepron is a tough one! I hope someone can tell you a good place to get it.

Costco is also cheap. Try there.

You do not need to be a Costco member to buy meds there.

Did you try Bridges to Access to see if you qualify for free Mepron?

My daughter has greaduated college and fallen off our insurance program so she too has to pay for her meds out of pocket.

I've heard so much about this $4.00 Walmart stuff. Is there some link or a place to go to find out the meds that they do offer on that plan? Or do you just have to call them?

As far as the mepron, I only wish I could help. That liquid gold is EXPENSIVE and even with insurance it was still one of my most expensive until I went IV.

Hopefully someone here can get you on the right path.

Cathy

thanks tutu, angelica and td. Your suggestions helped a lot.

I called Costco, Walmart, Walgreens, Target, and CVS after i got your replies.

Target was the absolute cheapest on Alinia ($1096) and Costco was way cheapest on Mepron ($868, almost 200 less than walmart).

The Target pharmacist told me they will match Walmart's prices -- he may have meant he will match anybody else's prices (i can't remember, yikes, need more brain meds!)

you can get the walmart generic list by googling walmart formulary. the list is pretty small.

so that's my story (but i won't stick to it if you tell me differently)

more suggestions are welcome, please!
