I'm new here and am completely confused by BettyG's questions for newcomers. One I have is whether Samento has helped anyone, and if so, how much?

I have taken Samento for over four years now. It almost completely stops my freezing cold chills, which used to keep me up all night.
But, it made me herx so bad I could never tolerate a full dose of 15 drops twice daily. I never got higher than 9 drops per day. I had so many Lyme rages from that 9 drop dose, that I had to cut down to 3 drops per day to save my marriage.
It definitely kills something, but has not cured me. I am one of very few here who has never had antibiotics, due to allergy. Most recommend that it be taken with or after ABX.

One poster awhile ago said that some German researchers found it
to promote Bb growth in vitro, but she's the only source I've
ever heard such an assertion from. Don't really know what to make

Even at very small doses, Samento made me sicker. I didn't realize at the time that I likely had a HUGE load of bugs and that I can't process die-off very well and needed very aggressive detox support.

It was one of the first things I took with Pau D'arco in the beginning.
I had to start up slow. I took it for 7-8 months, I don't test for it now, so it's not in my program.
It helped me with the headaches, and it was definately extremely helpful for me.

I started on Samento last Jan when I was in a healing plateau. I added it to my ABX regiman and it took me over a "hump"
Now I take it as part of the Full Cowden (not currently on ABX).
I really like it but also feel it should be taken in combination with other things - either herbs or ABX.

I've used Samento but it didn't do anything for me compared to abx. My understanding is that since the Borrelia was made more virulent in Lab 257, it takes abx to control it. The Samento is much more light weight.
That said, I know alot of people DO get results, good results. Just is, abx seem to get better results since they can target breaking up the cysts and then killing the keets.

I'm sorry if adding my experience into the mix further confuses you.
I started out with Raintree bulk cat's claw and worked up to 15 grams a day. Herxes were fairly gentle until I reached 12 grams daily. Going up to 15 produced a significant herx but recovering I did notice a decrease in the pain level I was in.
Because I was spending so much time making capsules, I changed to TOA free Cat's Claw Prima Una de Gato 3 drops 3 x day. When I increased it to 4 drops I experienced a very hard die off & have backed the dose down to the 3 drops 3 x day.
I know my experience seems contrary to many here, but I have actually had better results with these botanicals than I ever had with 2 years of high dose, potent antibiotics.
It's not easy sorting it all out but that is what we need to do.
Best Wishes, bf
