I started Bactrim & two hours after I started it, my glands swelled up, i got a fever, my body felt like a million pounds, pounding headache.

Im pretty sure it is a herx from Lyme & babesia. It has been 4 nights since i started treatment and the doc said I'll be pretty sick for about a month then he will start aggressive treatment.

When will the herx's let up---it is so00o0o0o painful and im soooo moody. All I want to do is sleep & that is mostly all I do.

Do you think this is the worst of it--since i started herxing in the beginning.???
thanks!

You said you started treatment 4 days ago... not 2 hours ago... right??

Day 4 is classic for the beginning of a herx.

No, it's not the worst of it!! Does your LLMD suggest backing off the meds if things get too tough for you??

I'm sorry if I didn't make it clear---its my ADD lol...

Ok I began the abx four days ago--- it only took 2 hours for me to start herxing. So Ive been herxing for the past 4 days & the first day was the worst. I am just shocked that it was almost instant.

My husband was on Bactrim for a possible prostate infection. WIthin hours, he looked like crap and felt terrible. He tried to stay with it for a few days to a week and finally was ripped off of it by his doctor saying it was a reaction. Maybe it was a herx, who knows?
