I haven't had one of these in years. I think I remember reading this is a good sign. Can someone elaborate on this?

I do know that when I ran a fever, my doctor said that was kind of a good sign. Shortly after that, I did have a huge turn around and felt I was tackling this illness.
I think a cold or fever (unless it's due to an iv infection) can often be a good sign since it means your immune system is trying to fight again.
I have crashed again since all that and now on IV's, BUT I do think that a cold COULD be good. Are you sure it's a cold and not some seasonal allergies. I know I often have trouble telling the difference.
In any case, try to remain positive about it since although the cold will be miserable, if you are coming back, it will be worth it in the end.
Good luck to you.

That is an interesting question. I have been sick for year now and felt dreadful with all sorts of the lyme symptoms. But I have not had a cold or my allergies since I was initially sick last year. Nothing. I just find that really weird. Is that typical for lymies?
Any info would be appreciated.

I have read several posts about how people with Lyme don't really get colds. I don't know how reliable this is, though.
I never get colds and I did get one last week from my brother.
BTW - I had some Nutramedix Takuna on hand and my sypmtoms were gone in two days!
