Hi. I've been gone for a while, but I have a quick question. How well does Bicillin LA work? I just got a shot of it yesterday, and am going to have 1-2 per week for maybe 3 weeks, depending on how I react.

How well does this work? My doctor thinks this is the last step, but I feel really awful.....

Thanks,

Draba

It apprently works Real well for some & pretty well for most. One Usually gets 2 shots/ week (or even a bit more) for a min of FOUR weeks, so I'm surprised you mentioned 3.
An intracellular (like Zith) is sometimes added to improve efficacy. Not mandatory.
You Should be on a hi-protein/ hi-fiber/ LO-CARB "Lyme diet"... & an antifungal like DiFlucan is often a good idea- as it can weaken the BB some while protecting the GI tract from probs, though IM Bicillun-LA is not too hard on the intestines.
Still, probiotics is Important (& timing is not a problem! [Wink] )
REMEBER TO EXCERCISE EVERY OTHER DAY FOR AN HOUR.
Not aerobic, you just want to get your pulse up to oxegenate the blood & get the outer capillaries going, to help disperse the penicillun [Smile] Good Luck!

it has worked pretty well for me. i herx like a madman (my last one lasted 2 straight weeks--been on it for 2.5 months now), so it's definitely doing its job.

if you do end up taking diflucan, i've heard it's bad to take with zithromax as it can increase its absorption. It can also be really hard on the liver, so I would pulse it 1x/week

I did IM Bicillin, twice a week, and ketek, 800 mg, once a day for 6 months. I also took

Diflucan, 100mg twice a day. I had a major anxiety herx at 3 weeks and stopped the Bicillin

for 11 days. After 6 months I was greatly improved but had major yeast problems so I

stopped the abx. My major remaining symptom was insomnia. (probably due to Bartonella) I had

prevously been treated for
Babesia. I did well for 3 months then

relapsed. In retrospect I wish I had aggresively treated Bartonella at that point. In my

experience nearly all Lymies have Bartonella.

Three weeks of Bicillin seems like just a start. And it should be used along with a

macrolide such as biaxin or ketek. I know ketek has gottton a bad rap lately but it did wonders for me.
