Hi Friends,

Sorry I've been MIA but you know on this board if your MIA, it's usually good news.

I finally ramped up to 2tsps Mesoilver 2X a day, along with 30 drops Cumanda 2X a day (as well as all probiotics, supplements and 8 grams of CSM daily).

I've, literally had the healthiest week since my diagnosis of Bart and biotoxin gene last Sept (exactly a year ago).

I went to the gym 7 days in a row and that whole left side tingling/numbing has stayed AWAY consistently.

Each day is a little bit of an emotional suprise but totally handleable: MILD anxiety, depression and manic energy.

Btm line: Definitely feel like I'm turning the corner.

Cut to last night, around 12:30 am, I start having mild stomach pain. So I took a pepcid ac and went to bed.

I woke up this morning, and the pain had spread and worsened. It starts a little above my belly button and goes all the way down to my groin area, all evenly around my upper and lower abdomen.

I have to walk at a 90 degree angle for it not to hurt so much. Then came the non-stop vomitting. I had a little bit of soup, took a Darvocet fot the pain and threw it up.

My morning BM was totally normal to very healthy so I don't think gas plays an issue.

My Dad doesn't think it my appendix because he said I wouldn't be able to eat ANYTHING and the pain would radiate in the lower right quadrant.

Being the fool I am, I do not have a thermometer (I hear the collective sigh of surprise) but my Mom has touched my forehead several times and I don't feel like I'm burning up.

So finally, I get some soup and the Darvocet down and I sleep for like 4 hours peacefully today. When I awake, that whole region is still in pain and I'm getting out of bed and walking gingerly like someone who would have lower back pain would.

I also have an on and off sore throat.

Do you think this is a virus or is it related to my TBD's and the protocol I've been doing (with NO stomach pains the entire duration).

I have been out and about much more because I'm feeling so much better so maybe being back in the public was like diving into a human petri dish?

My Mom thinks I should goto the ER...but how many times have I done THAT only to leave with no answers?

Any thoughts would be very much appreciated.

Gratefully,

--------------------
Clarissa

Because I knew you:
I have been changed for good.

I think you might do well on this one to listen to your mother. This may have nothing to do with lyme and an appendix is not the only thing that can cause an emergency.

As it's evening, please call your GP and/or go to the ER or urgent care. This could be serious problem and they can at least help you know if there is internal bleeding, constriction or test for types of food poisoning.

You might also think back to your diet for the past few days. Do not throw out any food from your fridge in case it needs to be tested.

If this is food poisoning, it can become quite serious and permanently damage the kidneys if it is something like E. coli that goes untreated.

You should have a urinalysis, at the least. It could be any urinary tract infection that travels up - and your kidneys could be at risk.

Good luck.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E_coli

Escherichia coli

Excerpt:

Gastrointestinal infection

Certain strains of E. coli, such as O157:H7, O121 and O104:H21, produce toxins. Food poisoning caused by E. coli are usually associated with eating unwashed vegetables and meat contaminated post-slaughter.

O157:H7 is further notorious for causing serious and even life-threatening complications like hemolytic-uremic syndrome (HUS).

. . . If E. coli bacteria escape the intestinal tract through a perforation (for example from an ulcer, a ruptured appendix, or a surgical error) and enter the abdomen, they usually cause peritonitis that can be fatal without prompt treatment.

However, E. coli are extremely sensitive to such antibiotics as streptomycin or gentamicin.

This could change since, as noted below, E. coli quickly acquires drug resistance.[20].

Recent research suggests that treatment with antibiotics does not improve the outcome of the disease, and may in fact significantly increase the chance of developing haemolytic uraemic syndrome.[21]

. . .

Urinary tract infection

Uropathogenic E. coli (UPEC) is responsible for approximately 90% of urinary tract infections (UTI) seen in individuals with ordinary anatomy.[15] . . .

Because women have a shorter urethra than men, they are 14-times more likely to suffer from an ascending UTI.[15]

Hubby has only been able to tolerate 2 drops of Cumanda once daily so I can imagine what 30 drops would do to him. You said you ramped up the dose but didn't say how quickly -- if you recently doubled the dose or significantly increased it then that could definitely be a factor.

Hubby had no major problems with Argentyn 23 colloidal silver (even IV) but little actual help either.

How long since you had any bloodwork -- CBC or Hepatic panel?

Could be anything from gallbladder symptoms to benign stomach cramps. If the vomiting continues or the pain is unbearable or you develop diarrhea or constipation then I would go to the ER. Or if you start running a fever.

G.I. problems are no fun and as you know can be nonspecific. A 24 hour virus is one thing, but if symptoms continue more than 2 or 3 days or become significantly worse then it is definitely worth a visit to an ER or urgent care facility.

Try to stay hydrated even if that means sucking on ice cubes.

You might try a heating pad or castor oil pack on your stomach/liver area -- don't see how that could hurt and it would help simple muscle cramps or could help with liver/gallbladder issues.

Let us know how things work out.

This is not medical advice, just my opinion based on hubby's experiences.

Clarissa!

I go through this exsperience every time I do a BIG killing.

You have to understand that ( we all do have parasites) when we kill them they release ..other pathogens...

http://curezone.com/clark/ascaris.asp

You mentioned that you take CMS but you are not taking CLORELLA or Physillium HUKS with Bentonite clay or A/C .....

Also , I would definitly TRIPLE the dosages of PROBIOTICS and stop every thing to rebuild the flora and see , even for 1 day.

To me was scary the same thing happened when I started LEVAQUIN in the first time.I thought I was going to end up on having a surgery BUT I guess I hanged in there and passed.

Try HIGH dosages ( I mean megadosages -like 5 theralax -I do sometimes take 300billion GOOD BUGS:) and it saves me) .

http://www.customprobiotics.com/

this is the one that I have been trying lately .I was suggested to take up to 6 pills to rebuild.YES 300 billion and I AM ON A VERY STRONG PROTOKOLL LATELY !!!

Whatever is the stoping and rebuilding with probiotics WOULD DEFINITLY HELP and NO harm will accur.PAY attention also to how the pain changes.

SO ADD High dosages of clorella and than follow it with HIgh dosages of PROBIOTICS ( 3 hrs betwen each other ) .

Hi,
Glad to hear you were doing better. Please know that when my appendix burst in college, it started around my belly button and later progressed to the lower right quadrant. My fever was low grade for awhile until it burst and went up to almost 105 (I was at the hospital when that happened, but they were pretty incompetent I believe). I could not stand up and had to walk bent over. I also had vomiting as well.

Please seek help if it worsens or if you are febrile, I went through a horrible experience with it and I have read that people with Lyme are more likely to have appendicitis.

Take care and update please!

Clarissa,

Sorry to hear this! Hope you are feeling better now.

Most times that I have had non-stop vomiting, which unfortunately has been a few, it was related to food-borne bacteria or a 24-hour or 48-hour virus.

What I learned last time from a doctor, which has saved me several times since, is that benadryl, an over the counter antihistamine, stops even horrible non-stop vomiting, and stops nausea.

Speak with your doctor, but if you are throwing up non-stop for a while, you should consider an emergency room to get rehydrated with fluids.

Hope you feel better soon!

So i just wanted to let everybody know whats going on with clarissa. I talked to her a little bit ago.

Turns out she had a ruptured appendix. She went to the ER and had to have surgery. Right now she is at the local hospital and is pretty drugged up because of the pain but everyth9ing went fine.

She will be staying there for a couple days.

So everybody show her some love. Im sure it would make her happy.

I am SO glad that you decided to go to the ER.

I think sometimes we are so used to ignoring "symptoms" that we might not take things as serious as others would.

If anyone has info about links between lyme and appendicitis, please post it. (My son, then 9, had appendicitis just over a year ago??)

Prayers and hugs to you!! Hope you feel better really soon!

Clarissa:

Ohhh, so sorry but so glad you got help in time. Here's to a speedy recovery and a few laughs as soon as you are up to it.

--------------

Gemofnj: well, uh, thanks. I had a friend who also did not have the classic lower right pain at first. The vomiting and hunching over like that rang a bell - or a flush.

It is too bad that so many lyme patients endure great degrees of pain in order to avoid bad treatment that is so often the experience in the ER. I know that is true for myself, so I can certainly relate with the reluctance.

Clarissa - I hope you were treated very well.

--

Soonermom:

wondering about borrelia and appendix, PubMed has just a crumb to follow. There may be works elsewhere, though.

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez

PubMed Search:

nothing with lyme and appendix or appendicitis

borrelia, appendix - none

borrelia, appendicitis - one - below

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez

Br Med J. 1967 Sep 16;3(5567):718-9.

Intestinal spirochaetosis.
Harland WA, Lee FD.

PMID: 6038367

-------------

No abstract with that citation, but it would be interesting to hunt this down.

I have to wonder if the appendix, being a filtering mechanism, can be overloaded- just as the liver can be overwhelmed trying to detox - so that not just a direct infection, but an overload of toxins from a systemic infection might push it to its limits.

Or, maybe just after a while of a systemic infection, it's just had enough.

Just thoughts. I wonder how much they examine a removed appendix.

Keebler & Ocean,

Thanks for the info! As far as I know, they didn't do any testing on his removed appendix. This was before my diagnosis and I was just glad that he was OK.

Maybe Clarissa will be able to find out if they tested hers for anything??

Oh you are my dearest friends in the entire world! Thank you for all of the love and healing vibes. I think you helped me get through this horrific ordeal!

I have a ton of funny (and not so funny) things to share with you about the last five days but please let me say again, THANK you for all of your kind words and thoughts.

When Joe told me had written an update report on my thread (through just his innate compassion) I was so incredibly touched and knew he was my true friend forever.

I wanted to thank the first few posters and never got a chance because come WED AM it was abundantly clear that something was terribly wrong.

The pain in my entire abdomen was unrelenting and at 7:30 am, I told my Dad (who'd driven from the Keys the night before) that it was time to go...something was SO wrong. We called my Mom, I put on a sweat suit, packed NOTHING and we were off.

Thankfully, there was no one else in the wtg. room and the way I was hunched over in agony, helped pushed me through pretty fast (or maybe it was the greasy hair, unshaven legs and disteneded stomach)lol...NOT!

Anyway, with the bad nauseau, I had to drink that wretched Barium (3 full glasses full) so I requested an anti- nausea drug. Then like 8 people took my pulse, and did thumps around my abdomen, asked me the same questions and finally it had to be done...the Lyme/Bart thing. I couldn't just leave it out

50% of the 12 people in my room had no clue. 25% knew it had to do with ticks...LYME (SSSSSS)? Oh goodness. Then, the seas parted, and my 2 surgeons, I'll call them the remaining 25% because the both were well-versed in Lyme...but one, (not sure where he was from...but not American) KNEW who my LLMD was had SEEN Under Our Skin, KNEW about Bartonella, herxing, spirochetes, coinfections and all of the politics.

The morphine had kicked in and I told him I finally felt "safe". He was amaaaaazing and HE wanted to know MORE about OUR disease. This is Florida!

Meanwhile we had my LLMD on the phone requesting "ok"s on meds: unison? flagyl (yikes) smd cipro (can you say possible Bart herx?). He okayed everything as it would be for a short time. When I spoke to him I told him that I loved him and that he was my hero. He was involved the entire time, taking my calls within 5 minutes each time.

The really cool well-versed Lymie surgeon took Dr. R's phone number as he would send the appendix out for biopsy and what would he specifically like him to look for, besides the obvious spirochetes?

It will be cool (and scary) to see THOSE results!! My Dad (a retired physician) said the CAT was pretty bad. I had what was called a retro cecal appendix, meaning it was wrapped up behind my cecum (so gross) which is the only reason why I could even endure the pain (I guess).

We discussed scars but due to the wide range of area they had to get to, we all agreed on one 2-3" horizontal scar by bikini line.

(sigh)...least of my problems as my appendix is leaking as they are getting me into surgery.

I don't even remember the actual surgery, just being wheeled into the patient room and hearing words like "only ice chips, no water", "at least 4 days", and "roommate coming in soon"...all phrases I did NOT like but I kept passing out and couldn't move (had my first catheter).

Okay, more later but the end result is all good (but STILL painful). The surgeon said it was one of the nastiest appendix ruptures he's ever seen. Lyme Doc said there is definitely a correlation to Lyme but no hard and fast rules.

We have a phone consult next week (perfect timing) and will dicuss details then that I can share with you.

I JUST graduated from ice chips to other drinks, soft foods and only small doses. They have me on Augmentin for one week and percoset taken as needed.

Anyone taken Augmentin? Just wondering if I'll herx. For now, obviously, colloidal silver and cumanda on back burner which totally sucks because I'd finally gotten it down daily and was doing really well.

Trying not to let this be an obstacle in my incline. Who knows? Maybe the appendix was filled with toxins and I'll get better faster OR we'll learn something more from the biopsy. I pray there's a silver lining.

Thank you again, ALL of you for such kind words. This really came out of left field only to remind me that each day counts a lot!

Gratefully and Humbly,

You may be right about the toxins from the appendix. You may be doing really great once you recover.

Take it easy though, OK?!!

Yeah! So glad you are better! It sounds like you got top notch care. I was at a 'teaching' hospital with my appendix and they did all kinds of tests, I got to the hospital in severe pain at 2 am and they didn't do surgery until 5:30 PM! Wouldn't give me pain meds because they didn't want to 'mask my symptoms', only when my fever went up to 104.5 did the RN flip out and run out of my room to get a doctor. THEN they decided I needed surgery, lol!!!

that's awesome that one of your surgeons was well versed with Lyme. So glad you are better, it takes time to heal, just try to rest.

take care,
Ocean

Once again, you guys are AWESOME! I feel so blessed to have you in my life.

I "think" the recovery is going smoothly but I have nothing to compare it to but my dad, being a retired doctor and having had the surgery done on himself, is well-versed with the next steps.

Well, today's big obsession was did I have a BM? I haven't had one since a week ago this past morning. Obviously, this is normal. I've been taking my mag citrate but my Mom was becoming the poop nazi.

She asked me no less than 4 times about my BM's today and then called the surgeon directly (I guess it's good to have proactive supporters).

Anyway, another physician from his group called back and said that this was normal but that she could give me a glycerine suppository tonight (?)

Cut to: I suddenly had the urge...and I left the proof in the toilet because I just KNEW she'd want to look at it...GROSS!!!

Anyway, thank goodness that obstacle has been hurdled so Nancy Drew won't be watching me all day tomorrow. I know she cares but if she only understood THE PAIN THE PAIN THE PAIN!

Incision is looking "healthy", no pus, blood or other. I still look pregnant but I think that must be gas. The percosets are groovy but also are constipators so cut me some slack, poop nazi.

I'm sleeping most of the time but I'm hoping that's normal. Joe let me know that Augmentin is just a fancier form of amoxicillin so that, thankfully, it would only hit Lyme. No herxes thus far so that's good.

Just wanted to give you guys an update and thank you again for the love and healing vibes!

Gratefully as always,

"The percosets are groovy but also are constipators so cut me some slack, poop nazi."

Sounds familiar!!! [lol]

Yes, I think the threat of suppositories from Mom would make me go too!! [Razz]
