Prior to getting diagnosed I would have frequent nightmares, after starting my antibiotics I stopped. Recently I started getting them again. They are so bad that I wake up in utter terror. These nightmares are extreme.
Any ideas on why I am getting these? What I may be able to do to not get them anymore.
Just a bit shaken up after last nights. Normally I have dreamless sleep. Or I dream and I don't remember my dreams.

I was told that during sleep the brain is healing itself, and nightmares are usually a result of messages within the brain getting crossed, rewired, confused, etc.
Whenever I get nightmares, I turn to prayer to calm my mind. Repeated prayers, like a mantra, deep breathing techniques, hold your pillow/spouse, etc.
Usually within the dreamstate you can recognize its a dream when the illogical is apparent.. such as... seeing an animal talk, wrong colored things (trees are pink), etc, then say to yourself, wake up..its a dream, and usually you'll wake up.
I know the mental health people would say that dreams are a part of the subconscious trying to come out.. But for me Ive always taken solice that its merely the activity of the brain trying to sort out and process everything thats going on.

That was my daughter's first symptom. But, she kept it to herself. She was an adolescent, and afraid she was going crazy.
She finally had to get medication to sleep because she would go for days and days without sleep.
She used to say..."I hate the night"
She now sleeps like a rock.

When I take my medication too close to bedtime, this can cause this. Also Mepron is known for this, so if you're taking it, make sure to take it 4-5 hours before bed.
Speedy wishes toward a clear sleepy mind!
