Hi everyone!!
After years of treatment I am almost symptom free, but I continue to have one problem I just can't shake no matter what drug I take.
My problem is that I fall asleep cold, and wake up around 2am burning and sweating. The sweats are mainly on my chest and neck and the burning is in my fingertips and feet.

Dare I ask your age and if you're a female. Sounds like hot flashes (menopause). If you're not of age, or you're a guy...forget that and look at possibly what foods you're eating before bed as the kidneys are purifying in the middle of night, prior to you waking up. You may want to try different supplements to see if they help. I heard bee pollen will help with hot flashes, and if its an inflammatory thing, then anti oxidant foods as well.

Yes I have been treated for babs several time. I even completed almost two years of treatment and have tested negative for a while now.
I also do not have fevers, severe headaches or dizziness that coincides with babs.
As far as hormones go, I was thinking that may be my problem. I am 33 and a female, but had many hormone panels run and found some abnormalities, but none that would point to menopause.
Thanks for the replies.

I had that horrible waking up (also around 2or 3am) burning and sweating-it's different than the night sweats I get before my period-I feel like I'm on fire. A year of bactrim (for bart) got rid of that symptom!

Are you on any abx now? When I was just about symptom free, I was given tinidazole and clarithromycin ('biaxin') for a few months; it might be time for that, for you.
The burning could conceivably be lyme, but many abx can cause such symptoms to linger. Some kind of "detox" might be helpful for you; the problem may be toxins that keep getteng re-absorbed.
One possibility is psyllium seed husk powder- stir 1 tsp into half a liter of water and stir like mad for 1/3-2/3 minute. wait another minute, the drink it. Keep drinking a decent amount of water from time to time, for a few hours-- then you will not re-absorb toxins before they pass. This has a very good chance of helping, if any of your problems come from left-over toxins.
Note: when trying this for the first time, after the first couple hours, don't let your distance from "the facilities" get too large. DaveS

It doesn't sound like menopause to me. I am going through menopause right now and although you can get night sweats the burning doesn't really fit.
If that is the only time you get burning and those are the only places consider yourself lucky. I have it in so many places all day long but for some reason it intensifies during the night.
I have started taking alpha lipoic acid and it seems to take the edge off of the burning. If I come across anything else that helps I will let you know!

Thanks everyone,
I saw my GP today and he ran several hormone tests to rule out thyroid and other hormone related problems.
I also started levaquin again to see if it helps. I will have to keep everyone posted.
Thanks again!
