It has been 1 year now, with bicillin all the way, and added in flagyl, zith, levaquin, valtrex, questrin (sp?).. I am now on 4 shots of bicllin and on questrin. I passed the vsl test, but doc wants me on questron anyways. I am definately better now, but none of my symptoms have disappeared. Definatley less intense. So is the treatment working? doc increased my bicillin to 4 shots a week to see if I herx bad. Well, My herx did intensify, more symptoms now, so that is a good sign he says. Not sure what he will do next, he increased the bicillin to see my reaction. I still have bart too. I have 2 lumps on my butt, and that is the bicillin which has not been dispersed in my body. Doc says to put heat and massage to break it up. I just don't know, is this treatment working, or should I tell him to get even more aggressive? Last month, I had a great week, my body was healing (I thought), then when I increased the bicillin and added the questron, I got worse. what is up with that? Jenin

I cant tell you what to do as youre the only one who knows whats going on.
I guess I would wonder if perhaps your body needs a break from everything just to recouperate and heal on its own. If you're not on any abx, do you go backwards, things get worse, or doesnt it make any difference? Do your good days outnumber your bad days?
Each time you see your LLMD, you should try to keep a written track of your symptoms and the levels of discomfort of each of them so you can see if you're progressing or not.
The main goal is really to be off abx and have your body fight the lyme on its own. But only you know if you're there yet or still need abx to stave it off. Changing abx can bring on herxes, or your body naturally adjusting to the different meds.
Im not sure this is helping at all... You're going through my biggest fear...being on abx longterm and not seeing results...
I wish you well...

You might be interested in Dr. Shoemaker's biotoxin videos. Google his name and watch biotoxin 101. He talks about taking cholestyramine/questran and having Lyme.
It could be either the bicillin or the cholestyramine causing the symptoms. The only way to tell which it is is to stop one.
