My daughter is taking these twice a day. She complains that they are "too powerful" and she feels funny for a little while after she takes them.

I have her stay out of her bed for one hour after she takes these so she doesn't want to divide them up and spread them out over the day.

Any suggestions for making this easier for her?

Doxy lowers the absorption of mepron....

May want to see if you can leave it out for the time being.

Especially considering how pricey it is.

What dosage of zithromax and/or mepron is she taking?

I only took zith once a day (600mg).

Mepron I take twice daily.

Maybe space out her meds.

Like take the mepron with fat. A couple of hours later take the zith.

Same in the evening.

Let us know the dosage and weight.

It helps.

Hugs,

Geneal

She takes 1/2 t of Mepron, 250 mg of zith, and 50 mg of doxy twice a day. She does eat some fat along with her Mepron.

She weighs 78 lbs.

She seems to get worse when she doesn't take the doxy. I didn't know it would interfere with the Mepron.

She has only been on this combo for one week.

She is spending less time in her bed now, but she really hates the requirement that she can't lay down for a while after taking her meds. It seems to me that it would be ok to lay down after the mepron, if we split them up. Do you agree?

Rather than lying down after taking certain meds - or eating - sitting up with feet elevated may help.

In a tall backed chair (or with chair against wall) with head and neck supported, this can really help if fatigue and vertigo are problems.

I'm taking zith and mepron. I take them together, morning and evening, with a bit of fatty food for the mepron (yep, that's medicinal butter on my toast).

About half the time, within 5 minutes of taking the meds, I start to feel spacey, flakey. When I took the initial dose I held up my hand, sure that I'd see it shaking like a leaf. It was rock steady, but it *still* felt like it was shaking. I feel this all through my body, usually for an hour or two. Since it comes on so fast, I think it's the mepron, as I don't think the zith would be absorbed that quickly.

I mentioned this to my doctor, and he feels the reaction is normal.

Thank you for telling me how you feel after taking them.

I just tried giving her the doxy and zith together and she still feels strange. The doxy by itself didn't make her feel funny. I don't remember the zith doing it either.

We might have to resort to just spacing them apart throughout the day.
