A question for those that have had arthritis from Lyme...
My son, age 6, has been in treatment for just over a year, is symptom-free with the exception of temporal lobe seizure activity, and has recently told me that when he runs, jumps, or climbs, his joints (knees and ankles) hurt.
At the time he was diagnosed, his inflamation levels were elevated, and he had migratory joint pain for the first several months of treatment.
Is it possible that his joints have sustained permanent damage form the lyme?
If so, what do we do to help him, so that he can do all those normal active kid things that he wants to do, without pain?
Hang in there. It seemed a few years ago that she was going to end up with pain forever. Then it happened, and it was a gradual process, but she started to have days where there was no pain.
It was the long term abx that did it. But the PT helped her.
PM me if you think you may be interested.

I'll be in touch soon, was away for the weekend and LN was out again last week. All is well here, was just suprised to hear my little one say that the knees and ankles hurt when he's active, had hoped that that was behind us.
Take care! kp
