I just found out my white blood cell count is 2.3 (instead of 4-10). I can't seem to get rid of the yeast on my tongue, and I suspect it is because of a poorly functioning immune system.

Doctor won't take me off antibiotics, though.

Those of you with low WBC count - are you making much progress?

ive the same problem: wbc under 3 and yeast on my tongue despite weeks of diflucan.

i am also afraid of other infections when i think of the wbc.

usually low wbc is typical for viruses, not bacteria. so maybe we also have a yet unknown tick-virus? some medicine lowers it - mine does.

My sister has had problems with her blood counts- Low White count and Neutrophils, Low red count, severe anemia...etc

She see's a Hematologist and is supplemented with IV infusions of Iron for the anemia, Procrit for the low RBC's, and Aranesp (sp?) for the WBC's, it has helped tremendously. Her WBC was down to 1.6 before treatment, it is now around 2.5, getting better.

Steven,
what is your dose of diflucan? I'm supposed to take 1 every 5 days.

Also, I've been told to take shark liver oil to boost my WBC count. I don't like the idea, but I'll let you know if it works for me.

Hey, are your white blood cell counts low because of the antibiotics or have they been this way even off of abx?

My white blood cells are also very low, around your number. Sometimes 2.1 even. Mine are not low due to abx, though. They have been this way for around 6 years... and we suspect it's due to the lyme or a co-infection. Ehrlichia can do it, as well as I've heard from a LLMD and a few people that Babs can possibly do it. I've even had a bone marrow biopsy done and that came back normal with my body making the right amount of cells, so we just have no idea where they go after they are made. Something is killing them off or something...

I don't think yeast is a culprit to causing low wbc. Not sure if you think that or if I'm reading your post wrong.

You can make progress with low wbc. I have. I used to be a lot worse off than I am now. I'm doing better (even though my wbc have stayed low). Have good days and bad days, but at least I'm lucky enough to have those good days once in a while.

I've recently started Transfer Factor. I'm curious to see how that may help my wbc. Not sure if it will, but I will know by December.

Good luck.
