Flagyl is a tough one. I was only on 500 mgs 2 x per day for a week per month when I was on it so by the time it was intolerable I was able to go off for three weeks.

It sure felt like a herx to me, but I'm looking forward to some other answers. I'm not sure if Flagyl kills Bb or just opens the cysts - what is the general consensus on that?

Diflucan can kill Lyme, too, so that can be contributing, perhaps. Yeast die off can be tough, as well.

Sometimes it's tough to know what's going on.

you better believe you can herx on flagyl!!

i had severe migraines within 3-4 days so bad i couldn't function. then they cleared up.

i think it was the best drug i've had but because it's so hard on liver and other organs, doc backed off it.

That drug took me to the gates of hell....I had to back off and take lower doseage and you might consider pulsing it every other day.

The worst herxs for me were from Flagyl. The only time I've been bed bound was during my second cycle of Flagyl. I was just too tired to get up for 2 days.

LOL - I guess I'm not the only one who has a tough time with this drug!

I know I'll be on this one again - oh boy!

In the meantime Rifampin is really kicking my butt. I herxed BIG time for the first time in over two years. We are definatley killing something over here.

I think everyone agrees that it works very well and it's a necessary evil.
