Has anyone tried breathing this for 2 or so hours a day? In Rosners Lyme and Rife, he suggests this has helped the immune system.

What conditions is medical grade oxygen rx'ed for? I'll bet that this would be difficult to get covered by insurance huh?

Thank you,
Feelfit

Hubby's LLMD actually mentioned this to me on the phone today. Hubby is having severe dizzyness most likely due to brain inflammation.

Anyway, LLMD was pretty sure this would only be convered if hubby's pulse ox was low and neither of us thought it would actually be low.

Dr C in Missouri had a protocol for doing this, but when we asked him about it a year or so ago he had had very few patients do this so could not offer much input as to results.

We knew someone with chronic fatigue that did this. He connected the oxygen while he exercised on either a stationary bike or a treadmill. Felt it was helpful. This guy had viral issues and not tickborne diseases.

Actually don't think it would be extremely expensive. I think the key is to have the right type of mask.

I've been on oxygen (97%) pure for a year 24 hours a day ,seven days a week . Room air is about 21% oxygen.
I've seen no benefit in symptoms . My worst symptom is the dizziness .

I have 5 years with the dizziness , fainting, ear problems, neck problems.

Positive tilt table test,
Low Rennin,
Low Aldosterone,
low Citrate,
Low vit D,
Abnormal Brain stem response.

Thanks Folks.

I really would like to try this especially while attempting to ride the exercise bike.

I asked my PCP about it yesterday and she is willing to fight ins.. She said to pay out of pocket would be really expensive. I live in rural America, so I don't know what she would consider "really expensive".

I am going to ask my LLMD about this 11-3.

Al, were your blood oxygen levels low too? Or were you just doing oxygen because of the dizziness?

Do You have any idea of cost? Hope you check back in.

Caution, babesia loves oxygen. I know someone who relapsed with babs sx after supplementing with oxygen.

That makes sense now, DolphinLady.

My LLMD Rx'ed oxygen therapy for me out of desperation for something to help a long time ago. (I now have a different LLMD). At that point I wasn't diagnosed with babesia.

It was a mask and a tank, and I had to hook up to it for about a half hour a day, and breathe in while walking up and down on this stair step thing.

It was HORRENDOUS for me. It made me feel terrible. It was like poison.

I couldn't figure out why it made me feel so terrible. I would get horrible headaches, and feel incredibly weak.

Retrospectively, maybe it was because of the babesia.

Hmmm Hoosier... but doesn't pure oxygen kill Lyme? Are you sure it wasn't the bacteria dying off somewhat?

I've seen a place..I think it was either at the mall or the airport..where you could go and pay to breathe in oxygen. Sounded so strange to me at the time..but I may just check it out!

It would be so great if my LLMD or PCP would actually prescribe an oxygen tank for me and have my insurance cover it.

and too much oxygen can cause extreme amounts of oxidative stress and be very bad. Agree with DolphinLady on oxygen therapies potentially proliferating babesia.

Feelfit,

I had a collapsed lung and was trying to re inflate it; This made my O2 levels low. My lung did re inflate 3 weeks ago and my o2 levels are improving.
I think the cost was $250. A MONTH FOR 25 SMALL BOTTLES. i ALSO HAVE AN OXYGEN GENERATOR for at home use.

Look up oxy. generators ; You can buy one from a
supplier . The one I have is about $1000. They put out about 90% oxygen
My best advise is "Save your money"I don't think you would benefit from it.
When you get to much Oxygen your lungs can't get rid of carbon dioxide fast enough and you will feel awful until this is corrected. This is why taking oxygen when it's not needed will cause problems.
