I am unfortunate in that I don't recall every having been bit, or seeing that nasty lil tic catch me. However I do happen to recall a strange incident back about 6-7 yrs ago when I woke up one day with severe Hives. I went to the doctor and he had to prescribe me prescription antihistamines and weirdly I could not find what had triggered these hives. They were all over my stomach and legs when I broke out. I continued to try and wing off the antihistamines for 6 Months! Finally I was able to come off of them without recurring hives! Was happy to be over that, then I had zero symtoms, felt fine until I started having this nasty head fog/tightness/headaches which started about 3-4yrs after the hives incident. I've had the head problem for 3 yrs now. Sick of it.
Now finding this Lyme forum, I wonder if I hadn't contracted it back that long ago? Hmmm...
Anyone else had Hives from the onset of getting Lyme? Not from meds...

Welcome ds...
Sorry you've been sick for so long. Glad you found the site. Lots of great folks here who are volunteering to help... so join in as you are able.
I certainly can't say if the "hives" were the onset of your illness... but I can say that Lyme sometimes produces multiple rashes that can appear to be hives.
Many times doctors miss the hive like appearance and misdiagnose Lyme disease.
The fact that you had to take meds for so long to combat what they said were hives is also a reason to stop and say ... hmmmmm?
FYI- Lyme rashes usually disappear without any treatment ... and can last from a few hours to months or years.
Sorry I don't have any concrete answers... but maybe something else will suddenly "click" and like many... you will be able to look backward in time and pinpoint the start of the infection.

dsfii, My symptoms started with bronchitis, sinus infections and pneumonia, within 3 months I had hive-like skin rashes that dr. attributed to hot tub rash, though no one else using hot tub got rashes.
I am sure that rashes were lyme, other weird symptoms have come and gone since.
unfortunatly, the muscle pain, fatique, and joint pain have not gone :<
I am confident that my new llmd will cure me :> I have a great positive attitude!!!!!
Mind/Body connection very important for recovery!
