Anyone know a good brand? I'm suppose to start taking it, as per my LLMD, but he didn't give me any info. Thanks

Buhner recommends the Source Naturals brand of resveratrol per his 'Healing Lyme' book.

We have used the Solaray brand with results that we were happy with.

The main thing with regard to the formula that Buhner recommends is that it has 500mg of standardized polygonum cuspidatum whole herb (hu zhang) and 10mg of resveratrol.

His dosage recommendation is 1-4 capsules 3-4 times per day.

I forget where I ordered it but they said it was the one they always sell for the Buhner protocol.

Do you have the book?

Here is the passage from Buhner's Healing Lyme book, page 76:

"2. Japanese Knotweed (Resveratrol) 1-4 tablets 3-4x daily for 8-12 months. The standardized tablets (e.g. those manufactured by Source Naturals, which I recommend) contain 1/2 gram (500 mg) of standardized Polygonum cuspidatum whole herb (Hu Zhang) and 10 mg of reserveratrol."

I am almost sure that I did see a Source Naturals product that had the amounts in the porportion he recommends, and I think I saw the one you have also when researching.

Soooo, I am not sure if you this will be okay or not?

Note: This is not medical advice... just providing information about a Buhner recommended lyme herb from Steven Buhner's Healing Lyme book.

I didn't see any that seemed to match the numbers in the book. If someone knows for sure can you post a link, or where to find it, or what it is exactly? Thanks so much.

Sorry about the double post earlier, computer was acting up. [Frown]

I find Outlet Nutrition economical for resveratrol -- it's the same brand but bigger pills in a bigger bottle -- about half the cost

Yeah, I'm interested too. What's the deal? Which one at Source Naturals is the right one?

I figured it out.

Both Source Naturals would work. Notice the serving size.

2 tabs = serving.

Buhner suggest 500mg with 10mg resver, right?

Use only 1 tablet and you've got the same dose. So you can spend the extra 60 cents and get all the extra grade seed or whatever, or just get the plane jane 1 gram/20mg Resver.

I tried Source Naturals Resveratrol for a few days. I became weepy and developed headaches. When I stopped, the headaches went away. I guess I'm just very sensitive to meds and some nutraceuticals.

The Resveratrol from Source Naturals has magnesium stearate in it which is said to cause biofilms.

I prefer the one from Pure Encapsulations - Resveratrol Extra.

I get mine from 1stchineseherbs in its raw powder form and make my own. I think it is plum flower brand.

I recommend you do this with all of his herbs because the dosages e talks about are mental and you will go broke very fast if you choose to buy everything ready made.

For example I only do 4 tabs twice daily of the core protocol and I add stephania root for Bart and eye involvement.

Even at half dose its still 32 tabs a day. Now I dont know about you but I think anymore than that is too much on top of supplements ,antibiotics, antifungals etc.
