Do you use the powder or the pill form.

Is one more effective than the other?
Is it dependant on your symptoms.

I have tremendous boat and belching in stomach and intestines.( so much so that i believe the gas pushes on my vagus nerve which inturn gives me heart palps - this is just my theory however)

I hope this product can heal the stomach and help w/ the yeast/fungi etc

Any opinions on powder pr pill?

Thanks

I personally use one capsule of VSL# 3 at bedtime in pill form. But I am currently not on high doses of abx at the moment.

You can buy it at CVS in the pharmacy department. It is a refrigerated probiotic 225 billion cultures and 8 strains.

IMO this product is fantastic. I do take other refrigerated probiotics periodically during the day. I do not have any gastro problems whatsoever.

Good luck !

Hi ctlyme,

I use the pill form of VSL #3 as well. I've had a lot of gastro problems with my Lyme/Co's and also have deficiencies with beneficial intestinal flora according to testing.

Due to all the sensitivities I have, I felt the pill would be a more pure form. The VSL #3 powder had a couple of additional excipients in it that I wasn't sure my gut would like.

One packet of the VSL #3 powder packet yields 450 billion beneficial organisms.

One VSL #3 capsule yields 112 billion beneficial organisms. So one would need to take 4 VSL capsules to equal 1 VSL packet.

This probiotic has helped me immensely and has given me better results than any other probiotic I've tried over the years. And I've tried quite a lot of brands.

I hope your experience with it is good as well!

Another product which has helped me tremendously is Del-Immune V. It's a probiotic and my LLMD recommended that I also include it. It contains one specific probiotic strain (Lactobacillus rhamnosus). The VSL #3 has this strain in it's formula (under a different name which I can't spell at the moment). But the Del-Immune V product is manfuctered in a different manner and yields a stronger strain, I believe.

In addition to its benefits in the gastro tract, the lactobacillus rhamnosus strain is also a key player that is responsible for helping with urogenital issues like UTI's, interstitial cystitis, and vaginal infections.

Thanks for the responses. I'm going to order the pills in the next couple days.

How long did it take for you to notice a difference w/ your stomach problems?

CT,

You get the capsules at CVS in the pharmacy dept. They are refrigerated and cost approx. $50. They are worth it. No stomach problems.

I wouldnt chance ordering them online or the live cultures can die in transit.

The powder form is another story.

Gem,

I actually stopped at a CVS and they did not have them at that store.

On the VSL website they have a feature that allows you to see the closest location to find their product.

I live near Hartford and they had no matches for this area.

Thanks everybody
